The Presidency has dismissed reports making the rounds in some quarters that President Muhammadu Buhari had cancelled 150 memos signed off by his late chief of staff, Abba Kyari.

There were speculations that the President cancelled memos and appointments made by the late Chief of Staff while it was also reported that Buhari had consequently constituted a panel to review them.

But in a statement issued on Tuesday evening, the President’s spokesman, Garba Shehu, dismissed the reports.

His words: “The attention of the Presidency has been drawn to media reports alleging that President Muhammadu Buhari has cancelled a number of memos and appointments signed off by his former Chief of Staff. Not surprisingly, these reports have quoted unnamed sources.

“There is not a grain of truth in these reports and Nigerians should please ignore the insinuations behind them.

“President Buhari was duly re-elected by Nigerians in February 2019. He has not and will never cede to anyone else, that power and trust given to him by the Nigerian people.”

NVS had earlier reported how Kyari died on April 17 after suffering complications from COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus.
