Kwara call for fans backing

Kwara United general manager Haruna Maigidasanma has rallied the club's supporters to help them in their bid to make an immediate return to the Nigerian Premier League (NPL).

The Kwara-based outfit were relegated to the Nigerian National League (NLL) after finishing in 17th place last year, with only a point separating them and safety.

Maigidasanma has made a desperate plea to the club's fans to back his team as they slog it out for promotion back to the top tier.

"I want to appeal to our fans to always be behind the team no matter the result. You cannot win always," the Afonja Warriors' GM told the News Agency of Nigeria.

"Kwara is a peaceful state, so, we want to ensure that our stadium is one of the most peaceful places to officiate.

"We are aware of the challenges before us and so are the players and their officials," he added.
