The Independent National Election Commission (INEC) has postponed elections slated for today in Oye-Ekiti indefinitely. The commission earlier suspended collation of votes after announcing results in 5 local governments yesterday. Action Congress candidate, Kayode Fayemi leads former governor and PDP candidate, Segun Oni by 12, 000 votes.

Results in 4 local governments are yet to be officially announced, our reporters in Ado-Ekiti said INEC officials have not been seen near the collation center in the state capital , Ado Ekiti. The most contentious results are expected from Ido-Osi local government area where local resistance prevented the PDP from smuggling 15,000 votes into the collation center last night.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian police said those arrested in Oye-Ekiti for perpetrating violence were moved to Abuja and detained overnight, the group was led by a federal Senator, Ayo Arise.

This is the latest report about the do-or-die resolve of the PDP to steal the Ekiti re-run. Is it not absurd and ridiculous that the results of a make-up election conducted some 24 hours ago are yet to be released? It is obvious that Nigeria is presently waiting for the next prank from the PDP to know the results of the election in Ekiti State and having been mauled by the vigilance of the Ekiti citizenry, the party is now stuck in how best to steal Ekiti State ‘by all means’. A good observer about the voters trend in the re-run election will reveal that it takes the most astute magician to cook the 18,000 fake votes in some two wards with which the PDP hopes to steal the Ekiti election. They however don’t know when the game is up so be ready for the mother of all surprises for the members of the PDP are dead to shame and have no scruples. Consider the fact that yesterday, we saw the shameful acts of so-called senators, honourable members of the house of assembly, honourable commissioners, speakers and honourable this and that as they shamelessly snatched ballot boxes and engaged in all manners of vices so as to secure a victory in Ekiti. And did I hear anybody talk of electoral reforms?

Nigerians must rise up and deal with these rouges that call themselves members of the PDP. The latest news is that the leaders of the PDP, having been frustrated from stealing in a hefty 15,000 votes into Ifaki Ekiti, are putting pressure on INEC officials to come back to Abuja and announce the fathom results in which Oni would have cancelled the 12,000 votes advantage Fayemi had over him before the bye-election. This would be the mother of all electoral frauds and should this succeed, all Nigerians must stand up and fight because it is becoming obvious from what happened yesterday that the PDP remains the greatest single problem Nigeria has to contend with now. Nigerians must rise up now to fight or never!
