Westerhof tips Keshi's team for success in Brazil

Former Nigeria coach Clemens Westerhof has tipped Stephen Keshi's team to make a big splash at the World Cup in June.


The Dutchman took the Super Eagles to their first World Cup 20 years ago and had Keshi as his captain in a side that won the Africa Cup of Nations and also reached the second round at its debut in the United States of America.

Obasi on target in Schalke 04 victory

Nigeria’s Chinedu Obasi was on target for Schalke 04 in their 2-0 defeat of Hertha Berlin in the German topflight at the Veltins-Arena on Friday night.

His right footed shot from a difficult angle on the right to the bottom right corner courtesy of an assist from Joel Matip put his side ahead in the 16th minute of the highly entertaining encounter.

Leon Balogun heals and targets Brazil 2014 place

Nigeria and Fortuna Dusseldorf of Germany defender Leon Balogun has expressed eagerness to represent the country in the 2014 Fifa World Cup which begins in June.

The defender who recently dropped his clutches following an injury secured in his debut match for Nigeria against Mexico also revealed that his club doctors will decide today (Friday) when he can start kicking the ball.
