Default Who is fooling around with the Lagos State Government Website?

A few minutes ago, I googled for some technical information on portals and to my surprise I saw this:

http://www.lagosstate.gov.ng/web/gue...nloads/samples
http://www.lagosstate.gov.ng/web/guest/downloads
http://www.lagosstate.gov.ng/web/guest

Notice the www.lagosstate.gov.ng: It is the Lagos State Government (LSG) website. At first, I thought, I was having delusion--having been working for 12 hours on my PC, but I looked closer and was sure it was not me.

The aforementioned website belongs to “Liferay”, an "open source" software organization --famous for its “Liferay Portal” . My question is, what is it doing on the LSG website. This is not just a link to the Liferay (outdated) website; it is obvious that someone (perhaps handling the LSG website) has taken the trouble to steal another organization's website and make it part of the LSG website or as if some kind of partnership exist between Liferay and the LSG.

Whoever is fooling around should first read the Liferay Copyright notice. Liferay is a genuine organization and would gain nothing from hijacking the LSG website—as would be the case with Internet criminals.

If you are reading this and knows any top official in the LSG, tell them to remove the Liferay website from the LSG website before they hear from Liferay's lawyers.

It is obviously bad "workmanship" on the part of the Web designer and the Site Admins. Typical of the current state of affairs with most government websites.

The Liferay Portal they are using is open source portal development content that they should have changed or restricted access to while the site construction continues.

I do not think the Liferay team will be too worried about it. If not they will be thrilled to get the free publicity. If you had not brought this up I wouldn't have been acquainted with their portal content. So I guess it worked!!!

Thanks.
