In nine years of PDP pre-eminence, there has been very little growth in the economy; the cost of living continues to rise, public infrastructure is in a state of decay. The country's external reserves is big ($65 billion?), but the people at home are losing weight. There is so much anguish and anxiety in the land in the face of pervasive inefficiency and the failure of the rule of law. The average Nigerian remembers the PDP as the party of the late Alhaji Lamidi Adedibu, Chris Uba, Okija shrine, Marshall Harry, Dikibo, the Odi massacre, the Bakassi sell-out, rising prices, nationwide insecurity, Niger Delta crisis and so on. And this is the political party that inflicted General Olusegun Obasanjo on Nigerians. Very few Nigerians are happy when they see the former PDP President. And after Obasanjo, the party has also inflicted on us. Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar'Adua, under whose government we are all still suffering and smiling eighteen months later. Party Deceiving People truly?
The PDP likes to boast that they are the biggest political party in Africa. What they fail to admit is they are also the most corrupt political party in the whole wide world.
The advantage that the PDP enjoys is the absence of a functional opposition. Government being the largest distributor of largesse, politicians in the opposition go across at night to lobby for favours from the ruling party. Members of the legislatures have lost the appetite for constructive objection. They are all unable to challenge the PDP hegemony and its power brokers. As PDP members celebrate the tenth anniversary of their party, Nigerians must worry about building a credible opposition and making the vote of the average Nigerian count. With the PDP, Nigeria has lost an opportunity in the last nine years or so, to develop the infrastructure for national renewal.
The only way Nigerians can free themselves from the shackles of the PDP cabal of criminals, is to listen to Reuben Abati, form opposition parties, preferably on ideological lines, and well articulated manifestos. Though I prefer parties on ideologcal lines, I do not mind parties of ethnic nationalties, with the demands of whatever the ethnic groups want fom Nigeria well articulated in order to destroy the PDP and eventually force a constitutional conference.

To Dr. Reuben Abati, I say to you in the language of my egba aunties and uncles , GBE'RE!!!

We've got to show some respect. They are the party to rule this country for the next 60 years at least. But come to think of it, what is the alternative to the PDP? Is it the ANPP or the AC or any of the other briefcase political parties we have in this country? Party politics in Nigeria needs to be redefined and it is going to take more than military-politicians to redifine it. We have to stand up as a people to take back our country from these political contractors who have hijacked it.

This fibble attempt at defining the damages this so-called Party has done to Nigeria by R. Abati is, to my humble opinion, too little too late. PDP is now properly entrenched and the only thing that can stop them from their 60yr carnage agenda is unavoidable implosive revolution, the type being engineered by Ken Nnamani and co.

The Nigerian elite, the religious bodies, the civil societies, the student unions and most especially the media missed the golden opportunity provided by the last most audacious election rigging to challange the PDP and rescue Nigeria from this hydra-headed monster. Now it is too late. All those who are supposed to form opposition are in bed with PDP for financial/political survival.
