Default Airline from US to Naija

Please my fellow villagers. which airline should I take? I am travelling from US to Naija. I don't want any airline that will keep me for 24hrs with stop here stop there 'cos I'm travelling with little kids, you how kids and luggages are. I also don't want to arrive Naija late at night. This is our first time travelling and I am not using any travelling agency.

Go into www.expedia.com and plug in your itinerary and all the flights should come up. Then you can pick whatever you want. You can pick based on the price, time of arrival or whatever.

Take a flight that check your luggage to Naija straight. Some flights thru London would make you take a train or whatever from Gatwick to Heahtrow which can be a hassle if you're travelling with kids. My wife advise that you should not go thru London if you're carrying luggages. For example London would not allow you to carry more than two hand luggages which include a women handbag. Plus they they will check your luggages in London and the US, which means you can have something taken off without you being present. For example my sis-in-law dried fish was taken off her luggage in London because they thought it was meat.

Another stop over to avoid is France. The French can be rude. Imagine them doing vagina check traveling to Naija. If one is travelling to France only I can see where they can think you might be carrying drugs. Who wants to be carrying drug from America to Naija?

    Try Lufthanza, Delta or KLM

Good luck and have a safe trip

I usually like Virgin Atlantic, but the layover in the UK is inconvenient. I tried Delta's direct flight from Atlanta to Lagos in January of '08. The flight went very smoothly, we arrived in Naija early in the morning and I would heartily recommend it. At the time, they had a promo price of $1200 round-trip from Los Angeles to Lagos which was better than any other airline. There was a one-hour wait in Atlanta for the connection from Los Angeles to Lagos which worked out well. On the way back though, the flight from Lagos was delayed two hours, so I missed my connecting flight from ATL to LAX. They automatically rebooked everyone coming from Lag to LA onto the next Delta flight to LAX without our having to ask. I was impressed. That said, it was my one and only experience with Delta -- I usually fly Virgin Atlantic to Naija.
