| Admin is at it again
I just created a thread asking why I needed to sign forum rules each time I need to respond to a post or do anything at all on NVS. I had not received a warning then or a PM. My post was not rude or derogatory. Boy did I speak too soon. Next I know, I got this; Dear MrsChocT,
You have received a warning at The Village Square.
Reason:
-------
Start your own topic
THIS IS NOT AN INFRACTION!!
Hi,
If you need to start a discussion on NVS matters, please open a thread.
We do not appreciate interjecting in existing discussions in ways that will derail the topic at hand.
And the issue you bought up in the "Admin has banned me" thread has been dealt with. If you have a new issue, open a new ticket.
-------
Original Post: http://nigeriavillagesquare.com/foru...tml#post402862
Shoko, pls unban me from that admin has banned me thread...pls now..
Warnings serve as a reminder to you of the forum's rules, which you are expected to understand and follow.
All the best,
The Village Square
My thread....mind you a new one, was deleted. Admin, I say it again, all villagers are not treated equal. There are other villagers that make comments unrelated to the thread they are reading and they don't get this sermon or the PM you sent me.
Admin, I don't understand why you choose to single me and some other villagers out. If this one is not a wanabe dictatorship, I don't know what is.
This is getting too much....who knows, this post may not even last one sec..

| Re: Admin is at it again Admin says "If you have a new issue, open a new ticket." Biko, when did ticketing start on NVS? Btw, Biko is not an insult before you pull a fast one.
Pls assign me a ticket number. If I see an off topic post and I report it, will you give those people the same treatment you gave me? Face it admin, you have singled some villagers out and are doing your best to get them off your site. I know I am one of them.
But I see you're trying to be PC about it so you can have an excuse for doing so. I just think some of your recent actions have been utterly ridiculous. This is not an insult before you come back with some other fabu why it is. It is a statement saying things as I see it.

Revert what in due course? I ask? I always have a nice weekend, just so you know. A villager asks a question and you come back with a meaningless one liner and you expect that to be a satisfactory response. It is not an insult, that one liner is inane.
Truth be told, there are many villagers who make comments unrelated to threads and you and your unpaid soldiers don't do anything. Why? because they are on your favorite's list. Or is because some of you meet for happy hour? Kparaposim is it!
I believe there would be less complaints if you treat all villagers equally but I think you enjoy the attention.
It's your site, enjoy your dictatorship, remember, Babaginda's time passed, so did Abacha's. So enjoy.
As usual, send your notifications, most of which do not make any sense. |

You are right!
But did you notice that the message clearly stated that "THIS IS NOT AN INFRACTION"
Did you also notice that the thread you're asking to reopen was locked to ALL villagers over a week ago?
But you're still right o

I do hope you noticed that a villager didn't notice that a thread was locked. Just to reinforce that it is easy not to notice.

Mr. Lee (Kwan Yew - Leader of Singapore): Why should I be against democracy? The British came here, never gave me democracy, except when they were about to leave. But I cannot run my system based on their rules. I have to amend it to fit my people's position. In multiracial societies, you don't vote in accordance with your economic interests and social interests, you vote in accordance with race and religion. Supposing I'd run their system here, Malays would vote for Muslims, Indians would vote for Indians, Chinese would vote for Chinese. I would have a constant clash in my Parliament which cannot be resolved because the Chinese majority would always overrule them. So I found a formula that changes that...

I speak as someone who has been around this site for long enough.
I am not aware of any favourites or so as you allude. I have only been modded once, when I got irritated by the incessant sexism of another villager not too long ago.
I took it in good faith. I didnt even bother about the issue for any more than 1min further.
To date, nothing of such has happened. The point ? This is a website for people of varying views and ideas. Dont go perceiving unfair treatement simply cos some of the administrators have to try and keep a sense of order. just saying. __________________

While I appreciate your comment in good faith, I would also like to tell you that if you haven't experienced it first hand, you can't say for sure.
I have been on the receiving end of meaningless actions by Oga and his team. A number of my threads have vamoosed into thin air. I make a comment or joke on a thread, I get an infraction or a warning. So please, let's not go there. If you haven't been treated the way I have, then you have no basis for telling me there is no such thing.
Thanks.

It was not an infraction but it was annoying PM that had no basis. It was absolutely pointless based on the communication style
If I knew the thread was locked to all villagers, honestly I wouldn't have made that comment. I didn't know. Couldn't the moderator/admin have sent me a PM informing me rather taking that inane action of sending me a warning? But no, they didn't, they first started with deleting a thread I started which had no insults or derogatory comments. Next I knew, I got the annoying PM and I had to check forum rules before making any post.
The thread(Admin has banned me) stated emphatically that "You have been removed from this discussion". How does that in Big K's English language 101 equate to "the thread is locked to all villagers"? Biko, explain.
Sometimes when you recruit people, you need to teach them a few things...in this case, how to communicate could be a start. One other thing, typing in all caps is shouting, you may need to teach your soldiers that too.
But you are always right abi. It is your time, biko, go on soun!
