Prophet and king David is one of the most influential Israeli kings. He wasn't just a man who loved God and built a praise tabernacle, he was also a man that God spoke highly of!

David however had many flaws and many fears. he was very lustful, many times confused and preferred his status to the life of a faithful servant. But David knew how to humble himself before God. He was diligent in agreeing with God and in asking God for His mercy.

The Tehillim (Psalms) are filled with most of his prayers and praises. He was also a skillful musician. His name means beloved and his life is an example of one that God loves.

I read the psalms a lot during my early days. In Psalm 62:6 David admonishes that one should pour one's heart out to the Lord because the Lord is a refuge... he is so right!

Having spent time with the Divine Shrink, I am at peace. I have found solace and direction and like Rabbi Shaul declared in Philippians, the peace of Adonai garrisons my heart in Christ Jesus.
