Death, the bible says is the last enemy to be destroyed - 1 Corinthians 15:26. Some versions use the words, abolish, annulled, overthrown, done away with and come to an end. One version refers to death as a power, and indeed it is.

Watching MJ's memorial service roused some emotions and the folder of death that I had closed became open. I remembered Soji my brother's death, I remembered my siblings' deaths, I remembered my friends' deaths... I remembered...

That's really the issue, isn't it? Memory... well, Michael got saved before he died, so I choose to remember him as a Christian, ... that's really the power... the power of choice!

Saying goodbyes, especially when one did not properly plan to leave can be emotionally unraveling, but the fact of life is, this power, this enemy called death, WILL be destroyed. Although it is the last destroyed, it WILL STILL BE DESTROYED!

So I choose to REST in God's word. Life TRIUMPHS over death! Jesus Christ is the LIFE and in Him, through Him, death becomes powerless.

Apostle John boldly wrote of our Savior: “I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.” ( Revelations 1:18 )
