And I'll start of with this favorite soulful Christmas offering of mine by the awesome Luther Vandross
S/he who reproves the lame must go upright Those who live in glass house should not throw stones The kettle is always quick to call the pot black
Do lovely things, not dream them. That should be ambition, to do, when there is so much to be done
Since thanksgiving I've been in serious Christmas mood
That Luther Vandross up there is superb
Now from my favorite soul singers
If I was asked to name one singer that will serenade me
It's definitely Mr Neville

This rockingest Christmas single that pays tribute to Soul music's greats (singers and musicians) along the way, and in which the highly unsung Graham Parker pairs up with former Bluebelle/Labelle member Nona Hendryx is specially for you Billy, my most woskedly karid fellow.
Brook Benton was always a great influence on the world's best-known acappella group, so it was inevitable that the Persuasions would tackle this Benton seasonal classic on their only Christmas album. Enjoy.
"Do They Know It's Christmas?" is a song written by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure in 1984 to raise money for relief of the 1984-1985 famine in Ethiopia. It became the fastest- selling single of all time in the UK, selling a million copies in the first week alone. It stayed at No. 1 for five weeks, selling over three million copies and becoming easily the biggest-selling single of all time in the UK. Such a classic song.
Love the song in spite what some have termed a contradiction and insensitivity of the lyrical part "Well tonight, thank God it's them instead of you!" in this charity cavalcade .
This song by Carla Thomas though share similar title with Mariah Carey's "All I want for Christmas is You" is not the same song. I love Mariah and she is a class act herself, but wow!! wow!! she can't touch this one. Another beautiful Christmas song of pure class, touches your very soul. Enjoy.
Freddie King was one of the first bluesmen to employ a racially integrated group on-stage behind him and his catchy instrumentals became an instant bandstand fodder for fellow bluesmen and white rock bands alike in the 60s. He is also said to have greatly influenced the likes of Eric Clapton, Mick Taylor, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Lonnie Mack, among many others.
