Post Selectivity In The Anti-corruption War

[list] Selectivity in the anti-corruption war ByIdang Alibi[/ul] I have noticed that each time something is said negatively about the former EFCC chairman Nuhu Ribadu, the main charge against him is always that he selectively victimized the enemies of the former President Olusegun Obasanjo under whom he served while it is grudgingly conceded to him that he did a good job. I am tired of hearing this charge of selectivity. I am not here saying that it is right for certain known criminals to be exempted from facing the law while some others for whatever reasons are made to account. What I just want to point out is that given the nature of human beings, accusation of selectivity will always be heard. My own anger is that we Nigerians are spending too much time on arguments about which criminals were overlooked and which ones accosted. I think that if we are serious, we will not spend valuable time on such a distractio...Read the full article.

I suppose we could also say the same for selective journalism, Since Dele Giwa left the scene all we here about are journalists who get gratuities and land allocations in Abuja and reward their pay masters with soft landing articles.

All I can say is that the politicians are not alone, Nigeria is one sick entity.

    My point exactly!

President Yar'Adua could be in EFCC custody if the so called "War on Curroption" was carried out properly.

You know, all the people in government have on way or the other stolen massively from our treasuries directly or inderctly.

So you have it - some would not stop crying foul because one of their own was caught.

We can speak all the English we but that will not change Nigeria. There is a time to renovate a house and there is a time to tear it down and rebuild - when the foundation has been seriously undermined. The foundations of Nigeria have been seriously undermined by corruption and we must rebuild by tearing down the existing governmental structures. Let anyone go and mark it, until we see another person with the zeal of Murtala Mohammed or Tunde Idiagbon, this country will continue in its slumber. If zero tolerence for corruption means allowing corrupt governors to go free, then where will the zeal to change Nigeria come from?
