Paul AKA ILN,
I admire your enthusiasm to defend motherland. Have you seen this article?

“Why Not Take Your Wife To Nigeria, Instead Of Polluting Our Country?”

Would have been ggod of you to post a link to the story, can't find it on CNN website.
Also interesting you say "Jeff Koinange doesnt work for CNN anymore" that doesnt mean he was fired as the heading of your article suggested, and if indeed he was , did CNN say it was because of the Niger Delta story? Also what was the relevance of his tryst (or what was that fancy way you described it) , marital status etc etc have to do with anything. let peoples personal lives be just that, PERSONAL!

For the rest of this article and the attack on Abati ,interesting things you say.
So when you pay for an advert on a TV channel , the channel is not allowed to do an uncompliment
ary story on you because you are trying to polish your image on their station.
You compliment Obasanjos handling of the Niger Delta, what a load of rubbish.
You want us to believe he is negotiating quietly while it is obvious he has abandonned the place. The whole area is going up in flames, isnt it obvious whatever strategy he has employed in the past 8 years hasnt worked? now MEND are bold enough to attack on mainland PH, police stations, Shell Camp etc while Obasanjo is negotiating or whatever you say he is doing. He'll continue to act gingerly till a full scale civil war erupts

This sums it up. cue from another post on the Kenyan forum.

Quote:
WHY? WHY JEFF? WHY? You had a promising career ahead of you! Why Tango with this mad muzungu woman? Everyone knows she's a bloody nut case! I swear guys never cease to amaze me! At least go down on the account of a stunning level headed woman. But this crap? A woman who accuses you of giving her Herpes and HIV and is willing to provide her daughter to an allegedly infected Jeff for a threesome? What kind of values does this woman have? What a mess and how embarassing for Jeff

salstep a Villager, posted the above .... http://www.nigeriavillagesquare.com/...tml#post179568 culled from a Kenyan website.
So, from the above and more, it does appear that it is not yet Uhuru in Kenya itself!

Where do Kenyans stand, abusing that Nigerian and his wife because of their perspectives on Nigeria?

Ogbeni dele26? There you have it!

AND, as for LINKS to news on Jeff Koinange compelled departure from CNN?

Even if Jeff was dismissed as aresult of the Nigerian Report, that does not erase the following facts:

1. The Niger Delta militants are deadly serious

2. Federal Governments efforts so far have not persuaded the guys to lay down their arms

3. Nigerian army would have wiped the militants off (like they did the armed men of Kano recently) if that were possible.

4. The present method of the past Federal Government if continued by the present government, will only give the militants time to entrench themselves till they are powerful enough to wage full scale war against Nigeria.

We do not need Jeff Koinage or Reuben Abati to remind us of these self evident facts

Mr.Adujie,

Your piece would have been wonderful if not for the digression to attack and vilify the person of Dr.Reuben Abati.

Abati had only voiced out his opinion in his article, and expressed his own convictions.

Repeating Abati's name for about 17 times in your article suggests that you really don't have much to write on, other than to rubbish the person of Abati. And it reminds me of when you , in a previous article singled out Mobolaji Aluko for annihilation.

Are you really this jealous or envious of some more successful individuals?

CNN might have fired Jeff Koinange but the Niger Delta issue remains a morass that needs urgent attention !!!!

Folks,if Jeff really boasted or and confirmed of contriving with MEND to give Nigeria a bad name, methinks that CNN owes Nigeria an unreserved apology to be written and announced hourly for 7days
Otherwise,Jeff's dismissal from CNN would amount to nothing in my books.Anybody with me in this?

The Nigerian Press is Becoming Lazy, Corrupt, and Moribund
http://www.nigeriavillagesquare.com/...and-mor-2.html
Written by Sabella Abidde Thursday, 31 May 2007

Today, the Nigerian Media is a shell of its once plump self: it has lost its way. And more so since 1999, the Nigerian Media has become lazy and moribund. And corruptible! Most of the newspapers and magazines in circulation today do not hide their allegiance to the party and or government in power (at any given time). And in fact, it is increasingly becoming difficult to distinguish one paper from another as most of these papers are home to some third-rate columnists and reporters. On any given day, sloppy writing and poor editing can be found all over the pages of the newspapers and magazines -- making one to wonder if anyone can just walk off the streets to become a journalist in today’s Nigeria. One can forgive nonprofessional writers, but trained journalists?

I am personally unconcerned with Jeff Koinange's trysts and menage a trois! he will have to answer to his wife about that.

My focus instead, is on his contrivances, connivances and collusion..... he admitted bribing to do the story. While saying he went where Nigeria Military dare not?

All reasonable Nigerians know about the deprivations and environmental pollution and degradation in the Niger Delta as a result of oil prospecting and explorations.... solutions are increasingly on the upsurge

We did not need an unethical journalist to give us his melodramatic reports .... just so he could finally get famous and enhance his career at Nigeria's expense!

NOW, that is my grouse/gripe!

Hi Paul,

I guess now that Jeff Koinage is fired all that is wrong with Nigeria Before Jeff was born will go away.

You have to be very stupid to think that Jeff can just walk into that Jungle and interview those people for free. May it's me but the last time I checked you have to grease somebody palms in order to even interview the President himself (of course I am not saying that the President will know about it) or any other high ranking people in Nigeria. This is the way that society works; it's about time we call a spade a spade and stop blaming people for all that is wrong with Nigeria.

I really do not mind that he paid to get the story of the Niger Delta people out; if that is what it takes.

It does not matter if Jeff is gone or not, Nigeria still remains one of the most corrupt countries in the world where the majority live in penury amongst abundance.

We are the only ones that can change our own destiny, America, CNN or any other outside media or personality cannot do it for us.

Frank Nweke et all...., keep rejoincing in ignorance... I guess Majority of us Nigerians are ignorant after all.

Shikena,
Goriola Abamieda

President Bush also said that Mr. Donald Rumsfeld resigned his appointment as US Defence Secretary, voluntarily and willingly on his own accord.

The real reason for Mr. Rumsfeld's dismissal from the Defence Department by President Bush? Policy failures that has led to debacle and quagmire in Iraq and the consequent repudiation by American voters at a general election

A repudiation of the leaders and formulators of those policies .... ant that repudiation included a demand that American troops be brought home.

Analogous to CNN vs. Jeff Koinange dismissal.. .. Some expect CNN to announce their blunder and error in having Jeff Koinange pay for a stage-managed/contrived report from the Niger Delta?

Some expect CNN to thereafter, apologize to Nigeria for CNN's offensive and sensational journalism that flew in the face of any journalistic ethical standards?

I am holding my breathe!

Hi, Mr. Adujie!

It is yet to be confirmed by anyone that the said interview of the ND Militants was staged. Hence, it is disgenuous or dishonest of anyone to claim so.

Furthermore, Donald Rumsfeld willingly left his position as Defense Secretary, even as a typically stubborn George Bush defended him to the last minute.

You need to stop your habit of conveniently twisting scenarios to suit your warped logic. You did it throughout Obasanjo's tenure, excusing the grossest abuse of power with the most ridiculous 'explanations'.

Yet the sigh of relief amongst Nigerians over his exit is unmistakable even to the blind and deaf! Somehow, someway, you will finally get it - that being a patriot does not require one to be blind.

Auspicious.
