Successful boutique of money managers in Orinda, CA has an immediate opening for a Trading Assistant. They are seeking an exceptional candidate with experience in foreign and domestic securities trading.

JOB DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Responsible for day-to-day settlement of foreign and domestic securities transactions.
-Information gathering to support trading and portfolio management.
-Work with Trader to furnish market information to Portfolio Managers and others.
-Assist with trading flow management; telephone, message delivery, etc.
-Serve as back-up to Head Trader including executing foreign and domestic equity trades and currency trades.
-Relationship management with service providers, including Advent, Thompson and Bloomberg.
-Place separate account orders, often with several broker/dealers.
-Point of contact for separate accounts administration.
-Assist team with compliance matters.

REQUIREMENTS:
-Undergraduate Degree.
-Industry experience, preferably buy-side trading desk, including some trading experience.
-Experience with Prime Brokerage, APL, Advent and Moxy platforms
-Ability to understand and act according to AIMR, stock exchange, SEC, and employer procedures, rules and regulations.
-Team player attitude. Must be willing to be a cooperative part of a busy team.
-Strong communication skills.
-Professional relationship management skills, including the ability to reach out to clients, service providers, or other departments in order to help accomplish objectives.

Location: Orinda, CA
Hours: 5:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
