Jimmy Jean (Haitian) in Lagos - Nollywood

I was just browsing through Sister 2 Sister magazine and saw Jimmy's face. Of course, I think Jimmy is very handsome and I am partial to the name Jimmy since that's my daddy and brother's name. He wants to expose the African disapora to Nollywood. I have seen him up close at a film festival and he is very friendly and down to earth - not pretentious at all.

I love how the Haitians kept the French soldiers on the exterior until the malaria season began. Afterwhich they bated them into the interior, and they started dying off like flies. They did not have to blow their brain out, malaria worked wonders on their numbers.

In the beginning of this clip they show the citadel. The Africans toted thousands of large rocks to the top. When the French army attempted to climb the citadel, they rained large rocks on their heads and killed quite of few of them.

Nice previews! LOVE the natural look. Love the clothes the natural hair...It is fantastic how Nollywood has come full circle and now displays Afrocentrism in our films as they should have from get-go instead of stupid imitations of anything Western. Those french doors from the 'Sinking Sand' preview remind me of those Colonial style houses in Lagos.
