Ancestor Stones by Aminata Forna. The literary setting is old times in the village (well to a certain stage) and shows the strengths and weaknesses of women in Sierra Leone as far back as the early 1900's. In all, it highlights how brave women were as far back as that time. The writer has a unique style of presenting and you may get lost in the mix, but that is what makes the book different and worth it. I'm glad I bought it.
