In celebration of the 50th anniversary of his seminal novel Things Fall Apart, PEN American Center presents a tribute to Nigerian writer Chinua Achebe. On February 26, Chinua Achebe (http://www.pen.org/author.php/prmAID/261/prmID/261) will be joined by Chris Abani (http://www.pen.org/author.php/prmAID/4/prmID/261), Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie (http://www.pen.org/author.php/prmAID/230/prmID/261), Michael Cunningham (http://www.pen.org/author.php/prmAID/241/prmID/261), Edwidge Danticat (http://www.pen.org/author.php/prmAID/302/prmID/261), Suheir Hammad (http://www.pen.org/author.php/prmAID/303/prmID/261), Ha Jin (http://www.pen.org/author.php/prmAID/304/prmID/261), Colum McCann (http://www.pen.org/author.php/prmAID/75/prmID/261), and Achebe's long time friend and colleague, the nobel laureateToni Morrison (http://www.pen.org/author.php/prmAID/305/prmID/261), amongst several others. The evening will also feature a special performance by the Francesca Harper Dance Project with dancers from the Alvin Ailey School.

This event is presented in collaboration with Bard College and Vintage & Anchor Books, which will publish a 50th Anniversary Edition of this modern classic on February 12, as part of an international celebration of Achebe's work.
