Default Infertility in Africa

What do you think is the cause of the high infertility rate in Africa both in men and women?

Right off the bat, without any statistics handy (and that's if there is any), I can tell you that it's due to the high incidence of sexually transmitted diseases/ infections and high rate of illegal and poorly performed abortions.

I suspect [but hope I'm wrong] part of it has to do with imported vaccines and the attempt by the powers that be to stop third world countries from "overpopulating" the world. And of course I know I'd get a lot of yabbis from this post.

The whole infertility thing don tire person so! Thank God for all these fertility clinics that are making it possible for people to have children. Problem is, how many people can even afford the treatments?

God is the ultimate as far as a woman getting and remaining pregnant and even when you engage in these treatments, God is still the ultimate in helping the oyun (pregnancy) happen and be maintained.

A friend's doctor (I had gone with her to see the guy) actually told us that all these their treatments gan sef, e get as e be and God is the only one that actually puts everything in place for a pregnancy to occur. This person is supposed to be reknowned in the state where we live -- according to him all that speculation about whether a person is ovulating or not ovulating is relative. A woman can only attest that she is ovulating when she gets pregnant. Can you imagine? My friend was so depressed that day! Anyway, God is the one that will get the Glory at the end of the day!

I know, TMI -- too much information! It's just the way I am feeling about how so many Nigerian women I know are experiencing this problem.

I can't blame anyone for using AV to ask questions on this thread. Like AV4 said, if you post anything they'll think you're indirectly telling them your life story. If you're a guy and you talk about a woman, automatically the village amebos will think you're married.

If u be woman and u comment on the wedding thread, they'll think u don marry. So many presumptions, all in the name of interaction in this village!

That's BTW, the amebos can continue but me I like this thread as it opens up the floor for serious discussion. If the doctors can give us their take on things, I would even love the thread better.

Dr. Bunch can you elaborate? Is it that when the STDs get untreated, their side effects could be infertility? As per the abortions, there have been countless women who had several abortions and were still able to conceive later in life. But then again there are some unfortunate ones.

AV 7, My comment was on a lighter mood. I don't hate khaki bag. I am not interested in other peoples' personal lives. I have my own issues which I am looking up to God to take control of. I take exception to you insinuating that the reason I am interested in knowing the person concern is so that i can begin to imagine or put 2+2 in their life. You don't even know me. You shocked me here! It is idle people that leave their own problems and begin to add 2+2 in other peoples' lives. I am too busy for that. Your attack is absolutely uncalled for.

The main and common cause of infertility in men is exposure of the genitals to the heat.
