On the program, I really really disagree with most of the thing said.. I believe the program was not balance.. Mr Admin .. I am sorry that I was unable to keep my word, to be part of the program..
Here are the point I disagree with..
1. you said, obasanjo never achieve anything in 8 years... this is wrong.. When a man takes a nation with close to less than 500,000 telephone lines to a nation of 17 million lines in less than 6 years, that man is great, if you do not know this , it is the first time in the world, that this would be achieved I work in the telecommunication industry.. so I know.. i once worked for telephone company.
2 . When a man is building 10 generating station which would generate close to 6000 MW of power, he is great . That have not be done anywhere in the world...
3 Obasanjo govt started and finished the building of more than 60 television station in 6 years... No other govt in Nigeria , have achieve and would ever meet up with what obasanjo have done in this sector of the economy.
4 Obasanjo govt have encourage private universities close to 20 in the last 6 years.. if we know our history well. I do know that the Redeemed University for all Nation application was filled many years ago, and govt after govt and offices, NEVER approve the project even when they knew, it was going to be to the benefit of Nigerian..
Let me please inform you. that before Obasanjo govt, IBB and abacha , awarded the same GMS licence to their friends, and the project never happen.. but this project that look impossible for them. Obasanjo govt have been able to achieve..
I have been to Nigeria several times, since obasanjo govt have been in power at least 4 or more times in the last 6 years, I have seen progress, it may be slow, but when compared with what I left behind.. I would score obasanjo govt 50% or more.. I may ask, how many of you people , that where involve in that program, Live in Nigeria, or have visited Nigeria in the past 4 years..
5 The banking section in Nigeria have been transform to a fund seeking industy, from the lay back approach of the past.
6 The area of Drug and medicine in Nigeria.. the same obasanjo govt have so much tried to improve the health of Nigeria, thru Doris Akunyile Drug law program.. If we all forgot, Nigeria use to be a country of fake drugs, please go to Nigeria now and see... or call your family.. Have any of you heard of Nafdac Number.. if you do not know what that is.. Your family in Nigeria would tell you more about this.. This is the achievement of President Obasanjo govt...
7 Efcc achievement, please they are not perfect, remember tafa balogun and others.. when in Nigeria history, did this take place before...
9 on the issue of third term.. I would tell you obasanjo deserve a third term.. but really i would honestly tell you , that i saw with my own eyes on television when, President Obasanjo told former president of Namibia to retire.. and President Obasanjo have said over and over , he is not running...
10. When i was in Nigeria, we all had to wait in lines to buy kerosine and petrol, please visit Nigeria now, if you would find anyone waiting in line, I would pay you $100.. or you find anyone given Nitel officers N100,000 to get a telephone lines.. I would give you another $100.
11 Nigeria airport, When I was in Nigeria, you cant enter the airport without the smell and non air condition waiting rooms,, please go to Nigeria airport now.
12 Bidding for govt contract , this is new in Nigeria, another achievement of president obasanjo.
8 I think it was Prof Aluko, who said the 2003 election was rigged.. please I was in Nigeria during the election, President Obasanjo won that election clean and clear... there may be one fraud on the other in the election, but in general, it was a clean election, please call your family in Nigeria to verify this ... How could Buhari win, when buhari fail to seek vote in the south... we only had some small poster of buhari in the south... How on earth would Buhari could have won, when he assume that all he need to win an election was to win the north.. he remain in the north, and lost.. He assume that the whole of the north would vote for him, so he did not need the southern vote.. that is why buhari lost the election.. Let me give you the state by state result analysis of election and ask yourself if Buhari would have won..
Lagos, ondo , ekiti, kwara, osun, ogun, oyo, kogi , there was no way Buhari would have won, because Obasanjo is a yoruba
Edo, delta, cross river, akwa ibom, river, belyesa state, Please tell me , how on earth Buhari would have won, any of this state..
this give Obasanjo/atiku 14 and Buhari 0
Adamawa, taraba, Plateau, benue, nassarawa please remember that Atiku is from this area. what influence did Buhari had in this state , NONE..
given obasanjo /atiku 19 buhari 0
Sokoto, zamfara, kebbi, kano, jigawa, kastina, bauchi, gombe yes buhari could win, he is the son of the soil.. so i give him 8 state..
but the result will still be obasanjo /atiku 19 Buhari 8
imo, enugu, abia,anambra,ebonyi.. Let us assume that Ojukwu won , please do not forget that all state are control by PDP. so obasanjo could have won.
it gives us obasanjo/atiku 19 buhari 8 ojukwu 5
this follow state could have been won by anybody borno, yobe, niger and kaduna
since the obasanjo/atiku ticket would have still won..
Yes election in nigeria is not prefect, but when you compare that 2003 election to the past, it would close to be clean..
Honest , if you claim you believe in democracy, what is democracy, is democarcy not the people electing thier leaders, and their leaders now respresent them.. Our senator and house of reps are our voice in the house, we have given our vote to them. let them decided the third term that is the beauty of democarcy, if they say, president obasanjo can run for third term, let us vote them out in 2007, if that is our wish..
I was in Nigeria during the Bellview crash, I am a yoruba man, like most yorubamen, I was told to hate obasanjo because he fail to hand over to Awolowo, but after the live program on AIT during the president meeting with people in the aviation industry, I believe Obasanjo loves Nigeria, If it was up to me alone, I would want him to rule Nigeria for ever... but I also respect the law, that says two (2 ) term. but if the constitution is changed tomorrow. I would vote for him against all this people claiming they want to be president.. but i respect the law, and I would honestly want the law to be 6 years one term(1) and not 2 term. And I would want rotation govt taken away from the law, because it would amount to discrimination base on place of birth.. Which is the equilavent of been racist or tribalist.
I believe that Obasanjo have no plan to remain in power, it is people who have things to benefit that are shouting third term..
And Mr Admin, I believe you should have a balance discussion, all people in the program share the same radical opinion.
obasanjo is the best president Nigeria have ever had... take for example the power generating station, do you know that 80% of them where built by Obsanjo govt in the military period, so, my question is what did the others Nigeria President do, while they where in offices....
I would says, why not wait till the president says he is going to run in 2007 before judgement.. Obasanjo would shock you all ..
Please i would like someone to please show me the achievement of any other Nigeria Head of state or President. and compare it to Obasanjo . I believe, he as not achieve all he could, but Nigeria is a place, which is difficult to rule...
You do not have to agree with me, but I have to speak what on my mind.

You dare talk of election 2003? The worst ever in the history of Nigeria. What happened in Anambra is a resounding proof. The INEC issued certificates of return to people who did not stand for elections! And the president congratulated the INEC chairman for a job well done!!! The person who rigged the elections in Anambra confessed. You think people in Anambra, angry with the PDP, could have voted en mass for Obasanjo instead of Ojukwu? What balderdash! In Ogun state, more people voted for the governor and the president than were registered, and you call it fair? Do you know how many (northern) moslems live in Ogun? In Bayelsa, Rivers, Delta, Enugu, Imo, etc, the Anambra senario was simply repeated. Now the INEC has told us that he is going to use electronic voting system in a country that suffers from epileptic power supply, and this is after the senate has told him to wait until Nigerians get used to the system. What is on the pipeline is electronic rigging, pure and simple. And what has the "greatest president" of Nigeria done to the different election riggers who went to confess to him? They have been amply rewarded. Please give me a break!
The president is now waking up to building power stations after six years in power, after promising on "his honor" that Nigerians will have uniterrupted power supply in 2001! He recently said it will take at least 25 years before Nigerians can have uniterrupted power supply, and you want us to applaud that? Do you know how much power South Africa generates? He has not been able to get one refinery functioning since his inception, and he is the minister of petroleum.
When you say the president brought millions of telephone lines to Nigeria, I simply laugh. Who are the ones running the telecommunications industry? They are foreigners. It is just like the oil industry. In both, Nigerians are being shortchanged. Tell me any country in the world where the telephones work the way they do in Nigeria? The telephone companies do whatever they want and this with government connivance. If Abacha did not allow the free use of telephones, it was because he was afraid of his own shadow, not because he was incapable. Telephone companies are businesses that seek to do business wherever they could. They could not care less whether the government in place is a dictatorship or not. If Obasanjo invented any telephone technology, please let us know! He simply bowed to the pressures of the private sector, most of whom are foreigners. And so the phone revolution is not due to him. It just happened in his own time. In any case, he could not have blocked it, like Abacha tried to do but with limited success.
Do not forget that it was during his first coming that Nigeria got entangled in the debt trap! He was naive enough to accept loans that the country did not need, simply because the oyibos, whom he believes to be super humans, told him to do so. In his second coming the same people also told him to hand them over 12 billion dollars in the name of repaying spurious loans, simply because they knew Nigeria was making a lot of money from oil, and that was presented to us as debt relief!!! They had a stooge in the person of the finance minister, who is simply overrated, in my estimation. She has since been announcing that we are being more indebted to the world bank, recently she took a 100million dollar loan which in a few years time will metamorphose into hundreds of millions!! Any government that is eager to hand over its country's money to another for no good reason, is simply unpatriotic or just foolish, no matter how they may claim to "love" their country. Look at the countries that got authentic debt relief and compare them to Nigeria" Services are a lot better in most countries of Africa compared to Nigeria. Infact, if anything, things have deteriorated since 1999 according to available statistics. Check UNICEF, UNESCO, UNDP, etc, and compare Nigeria pre and post 1999.
On the third term madness, you need to be at least consistent, sir. You said you'd like the president to go for a third term, why not then stop pretending that you believe the president is not going to run, despite supporting constitutional amendements to allow him do so? If the president comes out tomorrow to say that he wants to run, you have already demonstrated that you have reasons to support him.
Unfortunately, your reasons are simply hogwash!
Supposing, even, that all the things you said about the president performing are true, pray, what is a president elected to do?
Unfortunately, his performance has not only been below average, but he is also trying to amend the constitution so that he could continue to tell us how good he is. The name of the game is fraud, pure and simple! "Na wayo wayo government we dey" said the legendary "Abami eda"
Mr one nigeria. My first question is where do you live, If it is outside Nigeria, I do not have anything to discuss with you.. You people out of Nigeria believe you know what is going on Nigeria.. Pleasee check with people in Nigeria.. Do you remember that the Hausa moved enmass before the election, because noone knew what the outcome would be,, Because they live in ogun state do not mean that they voted.. I do not know where you are getting your figure from.. Please verify your figure on INEC website.. please...
You claim that Abacha was afraid of his shadow, it show your knowledge of the communication in Nigeria and the world.. If it was about military coup that he was scare of . The Nigeria military have an independent system that is not connected with the general public telephone link, same all over the world. and people already have cell phone, but just little.. i am an engineer, and i major in communication.
You said that that non nigerian came to invest in Nigeria telecommunication system.. That is another achievement of Obasanjo govt, investment friendly environment..
You claim Obasanjo pay all of our debt, I may ask, is that a good thing or a bad thing, I assume people should praise him.. shagari is the one who took us to debt, please check your fact.. I have nothing against him.. i respect my leader. or against buhari.
On electronic voting system issue, this shows that you have not been to Nigeria in some years now, my brother visit home... The electronic voting system Nigeria would be using, does not require power supply, I saw it myself. Brother go to our site http://Nigeria.mooo.com to alway watch naija television for recent event.. your inform is not up to date.
When obasanjo handed over to shagari in 1979, he handed over 27 ship NNSL. but when he came back, none exist.. obsanjo was the one who pay for most of ship debt free...
he built the stadium in Abuja debt free.
where were all of this men, during the civil war..
UNICEF, UNESCO, UNDP, all this New york base agencies, who sit in new york and see what is going on in Nigeria.. .. another white arm. Only people in nigeria that can tell you what is going on. please make una visit home...
I believe in Mr President , do not get me wrong.. I am a believer in a good man, in the wrong place... if the voice of the People which is the Nigeria senate and rep, say they want third for him .. I already said against the likes of some people who want to be president I would vote for him .
.
Obasanjo have done more for Nigeria than any man in the History of that nation... I do believe in him.... What he is the only leader that have made thing happen for the common man, I remember , i think it was the IBB govt when one minister, says telephone is not for the poor man..
I have nothing against him.. i respect my leader. or against shagari, buhari. and others is just when a man is good, let say so..
Obasanjo is the Father of the Nigeria , just like George washington and other in other country.. Is just we do not like good leadership. he as his mistakes too.. but over all obasanjo motive is good.. one of his problem is that he is not an orator. i would love him to rule nigeria, till he dies not the law for now is against it.. How many of us who is shouting have ever been to nigeria because of Nigeria... or would love to be in jail..
My bible tell me a good man lives inheritance for his children,, Obasanjo is a good man, he is leaving inheritance for our children. i wish nigerian could support him and let us build a nation of great people.. You see money is nothing, when Abiola had all the money, can anyone call abiola today, to wake and eat chicken from hilton, no, even if you put it in his hand, he cant take it.. All our past leaders were only interested in taken money and for 40 years they never built any inheritance for our children, If you tell buhari today which stadium did he build, NONE, or ask him,did he buy ship for Nigeria, NONE.. Did you buhari increase he telephone system NONE. If you do the same for IBB. It would be NONE, NONE, NONE, NONE.. if you ask him did you pay nigerian debt, NO , I RESHEDULE IT FOR OUR CHILDREN CHILDREN.. OR ASK abacha, He may says YES, I BUILT THEM IN EUROPE in NY BANK ACCOUNT. Do we call this people good people.. do you call them leaders, no.. A leader is a man who as the good of his people at heart.. IBB still as a chance to redeemed himself, but getting involve in charity work...... it is not too late, so that you can remove the hate for you in the land...
Buhari fail in the election, because he still believe in the old North idea, if he want to win in 2007, he better relocate to the south.. IF Atiku think , he would president, because he is married to a yoruba woman, or his friend is Obasanjo, he is dreaming, Atiku should move to Ede, owo bonny, sepele , enugu.. that is where he should be. Atiku should know this.. the hausa would vote for buhari over him. and if the law is amend, mr one nigeria, you know where i would vote, except if people i like contest...
If you tell me that OBJ bought those ships with his money, then kudos to him! It was our money. What is a president supposed to be doing? Nigeria is a place where public officials, among them the president, beat their chest when they do what they are paid to do! Heroes are the ones who do more, who are creative. The presidents Americans cherish today are the ones who did "more" than their regular jobs. What we are witnessing today is that OBJ has being doing, more, but in the negative direction: transforming himself into a life president. He won't be the first in Africa and his reward won't be different from those of the others before him in Africa's hall of shame.
He "built" the Abuja stadium at a cost that was more than ten times the estimated cost! Do you know the cost of the stadium and how much such a stadium costs in countries that are many times richer than Nigeria? It was one of the biggest frauds in our country's history!!! Again, how an additional stadium became a priority project in a country without the basic amenities, beats my imagination.
I've no problem with you trying to praise your "hero" but you'd do well, sir, if you check your facts well before doing that, otherwise you'd be doing a disservice to your hero.

Ok' I see your point. Arsenal (a private company?) is building a multi million dollar stadium and so we should build one. Germany is building one so we should build one too. Then later we go to them, cap in hand, begging for debt cancellation! See how wise we are?
You haven't told us how the stadium became a necessity in a country that cannot boast of the barest necessity of life, like constant power supply. Do you know the human and material cost of lack constant power supply to a country like Nigeria at this global age? I mean people die daily because of lack of constant power supply in Nigeria.
If you do not know that the Abuja stadium is a fraud, check your record or if you don't have one, tell me and I will supply it to you, from the bidding to the construction. It's a monumental fraud. It is bad enough that we built what we really didn't need. but it is even worse that it didn't follow due process. Do you know who was the minister of works then? He's one of the biggest crooks in the history of Nigeria.
I'm not out to bring OBJ or anybody down. I base my comments and analysis on hard facts.
