NNAMANI AND THE RACKETEERS. Senate President, Ken Nnamani remains one of the few shinning lights in the dysfunctional democracy the country had been saddled with since May 29, 1999. As the life of this dispensation ebbs, Nnamani is being subjected to the dirtiest assault by the same forces that have deliberately ensured the country is stunted through the ventilation of so many acts of dubiety and fraud. Nnamani is being persecuted because he is the unusual naysayer in the contrived state of anomie where Obasanjo has maintained a rave presence in the last eight years. In tune with the unfortunate tide of the present, Nnamani is the target of unprecedented attack by the retrogressive forces that are trying very hard to pull the country down the brinks for the past eight years. This renegade force has its commander in chief, Olusegun Obasanjo, the almost expired president, whose knack for self-destructive antics and pranks are legendary. In its ranks are the cheap, self-adulating serfs that live and wake in the image of the Abuja pharaoh and who can do anything to ingratiate themselves to the putative whiles and fancies of the emperor. Because Nnamani does not subscribe to this cultic penchant, those that deem our national treasury as theirs, to loot and employ in fighting their many enemies, are assailing him. They are retching and sponsoring some phantom groups that have their real addresses in Aso Rock to attack Nnamani. With the sham elections purportedly held in April, Nnamani who retains a primal place in the hearts of Nigerians for deftly disallowing the self-perpetuation of Obasanjo, saw another opportunity to rile and upbraid the shameless cartel of vote robbers who visited the most abhorrent manipulation on the countrys electoral process. With a clear and unpretensive voice, Nnamani offered a strong rebuke to the shameless gerrymandering and deliberate acts of electoral scam that were employed to mutilate the electoral process. Like most Nigerians that do not derive any livelihood from the evil empire that is in full reign in Aso Rock, he thumbed down the elections as being stripped of the very flimsiest veneer of credibility as to drive a peoples progress march. In doing this, Nnamani was at home with millions of robbed Nigerian voters, dozens of international observer groups, the full cocktail of the international community and local observers who felt thoroughly scandalized and very embarrassed by the macabre nature of the phantom elections. With a voice that has given little or no comfort to the vain buccaneers and remorseless vampires that sleep and wake plotting evil on the rest of the country and seeking their dominance over and above the people who neigh hungrily for reprieve from eight years of blistering experience in the hands of Obasanjo and his cronies, Nnamani told off the elections as a premeditated sham that lacks minimum credibility. But he drew the flak of the eunuchs that have been bred these past eight years to target any voice of reason in the polity that questions their many sly acts. They first charged that he was plotting to overthrow them and head an interim government and later that he was plotting to derail democracy; that much abused term that had been employed in the last eight years to offer comfort to the intrigues of the cultic ring that has demolished the country these past eight years. But Nnamani remained undeterred and his senate was to follow up with an inquest into the scandalous racketeering and unseemly bazaar Iwu and his band of rouges have turned INEC into, while employing the institution to perpetrate the most heinous electoral fraud ever seen in the history of mankind. The senate scandalized by the shambolic preparations for the mangled elections, and still so petrified that for the deliberate scam Iwu and his cohorts visited on the country in April, huge resources belonging to the Nigerian people were misappropriated. Simply, the senate asked Iwu to account for the money allocated for an election that stood out for its sham value. This caught Iwu practically pants down as he tried all tricks to evade that demand and resorted to perhaps the most infantile theatric Nigerians have ever seen of any public officer. Because, Iwu lacked the most basic defence for the obvious harvest he carried out in INEC, he launched into a rage of distasteful puerile blackmail of how Nnamanis company collected a N50million contract from him, how he would prosecute some people for disrupting elections in Enugu State and such other incoherent effusions of a clearly distracted hireling that has been caught with his soiled hands right inside the cookies jar. Like one of the poor tactics of the regime and man he serves so slavishly and for whom he could commit any crime, these poorly assembled tissues of childish blackmail collapsed soon after they were launched. No straw was deemed too mean for Iwu, a scum and soulless racketeer to clutch so as to dilute and mitigate the facts of accounting for the billions of Naira he collected for the purpose of announcing pre-determined phantom electoral results in April. Iwu, latching on the hefty loot that he made from the limitless bazaar INEC was turned into, resorted to raking up so many groups that draw their livelihood from the seamless trough of INEC and the borderless free fund Obasanjos Aso Rock employs for such demeaning projects to try to besmear the name Nnamani earned for himself as he refused to join Ali Baba and his forty thieves. Seemingly operating under so many riotous names, these cash and carry urchins that have never been in short supply as the Obasanjo pestilence and its deceptive commission lasted, have been buying newspaper spaces in recent times to lampoon Nnamani for questioning the scruples of a beloved Aso Rock dog, a soulless crony that lives in the shadow of the dirty business he elected to perform for a band of rapists that care no hoot taking down the nation in a bid to maintain their corrupt hold on the country and its resources. As boring and as vacuous as these groups sound, Iwus INEC is beyond reproach just because it is one of the many evil cartels of vice Obasanjo has created in the past eight years to destroy every institution in the land. This is why Iwu, a man that should be behind bars for his criminal acts against Nigeria is prancing about, buffeted on all sides by pharaohs chariots and charioteers to abuse and rake infantile mud against any person that seeks to find out what transpired in the house of sleaze where he and fellows like Philip Umeadi held sway. With the predictable backing of Obasanjo and his lackeys who, by the way, provided the infamous code with which Iwu carried the bizarre electoral fraud that happened in April, Iwu fools himself that he is above the laws of the land and is goaded into almost believing he is immune from the control of Nigerians so long as he enjoys the immunity of the man that prodded him into the Golgotha of shame where he is suffering so much mental agony for his clear acts of infamy. From there, he had been able to retch up countless solidarity visits from the sly beneficiaries of the fraud he launched on the country last April, like the pitiful solidarity visit of some group of women loafers and scarlet ladies from my own Imo State that bask in the advantage Iwus sleight of hand invested on them last April. He is going down the very gutters raking up all manners of scavengers to place newspaper advertorials as a way of dodging the senate inquest. No language has been considered too denigrating to use on the exalted office of the senate president by virtual scammers and vultures that are feeding fat from the rot that is being sowed in the country by the Obasanjo government. When it is not one of these scamming groups that go by the funny appellation of Ohaneze Youth Council, it is one of the nameless fronts for the endless strings of state-sponsored racketeers, fruits of Obasanjos dubious reform processes that have come to define this evil regimes response to the many questions of its good intentions these past eight years. They have gone to town with how Iwu has become a saint for organizing an election that is in good contest for Guinness Books of Records listing for dubious elections and how Nnamani has become the villain for asking INEC to account. When they are not launching into self-enfooling fallacies, the horrible trajectories that have been futilely employed to cover the massive vote stealing of April, they are issuing threats of ensuring that those that refuse to drink from the obviously fouled chalice Iwu scrambled in April are ran out of business. Strangely, they advertise the mindset of the fountain of corruption that exhumed such a soulless crony as Iwu and sustained him to do what he did in April. They have a mortal enemy in an Nnamani that has practically stood between them and their original concept of dying in power. This accounts for the reason why Nnamani is being painted in vile colours for doing what he should do. This is the reason the nation is awash with all manners of state sponsored vampires, pimps and scavengers in all sectors of our national life who have taken it upon themselves to embark on the self-deceptive mission of white-washing an electoral fraud that lacks the minutest redeeming grace. This is why the targets of these state-sponsored fiends are people like Ken Nnamani and all who dare feel that Nigeria does not deserve the large-scale fraud of the present. The paradox of the present is that those who should be battling with their lives for acts of sabotage and terror on Nigeria are the ones employing peoples resources, to fight others that have ennobled their names through recordable acts of patriotism and honesty to the country. The tragedy is that villains of history are calling the shots in Nigeria. They are the ones that control our resources. They are the ones that take unto themselves the task of determining what is right or wrong for us. They are the ones who can go to any demeaning length to sell their rotten mandates as our own and are the ones that latch open our common till to whet the appetites of the legions of vultures and predators that make brisk business from the state of anomie Obasanjo ran in eight years. The irony of Nigerias present confusion is that villains that have gang-raped the country are sitting pretty and threatening others with extermination should they not come on board their theatres of shame. The paradox of Nigeria is that the state is on a regress and in this retrogressive form; anything is possible, including the pre-emptive strike of criminals that should warm our prisons and not sow such roadblocks to progress and peace as they did with the April sham elections. But like truth, there is no doubt that Nnamani would outlive the dubiety of the present. A casual appraisal of history reveals that men like Nnamani, who are very much in short supply in a country racked by endless strings of fraudulent leadership, survive such contrivances founded and sustained by the pecuniary incentives that are never in short supply with desperate leadership impostors who deign no scruples visiting calamitous vicissitudes on the people just to make sure they ride rough shod over others. Gladly, Nnamani has only a momentary battle to fight and it is good that such battles are already wearing out while those that think they can fool and dupe the people forever have a battle that is yet to start. The Iwus, the Obasanjo and the rag tag team of rented charlatans that have now practically took over Abuja and who live for the moment and who sowed and sustain this fraud have let out an ennui they can never arrest. They have kicked off a life battle they can never win. They have already earned their disgraceful places in the black pages of the peoples history and from there any thing is possible. They are now the targets of a worldwide ribaldry that stands out for its indictment of a cult that is so insecure that they could only predicate their survival on fraudulently mangling Nigerias electoral system in such brazen manner that rankles all decent minds. In the midst of the unfolding tragedy Nigeria has been turned into by a self-consumed adult delinquent, Nnamani is going home with his integrity and honour intact. While the sly, self-conceited, vice-driven, grand Capone of the buccaneering ring in Abuja these past eight years is met at the most insecure straits of history, bearing in mind the awful distaste with which Nigerians whom he had conned these eight years loathe him, let Senator Kenechukwu Nnamani stand up and take a bow of honour because unlike the self-glorifying, fidgeting, embarrassing failure called Obasanjo, he came, he saw and he conquered.
