Dear Friends,

I wish I could address all of us one by one, by our names which evoke the affection, the meaning in my tone of voice, and the appreciation harboured therein. Sadly, even with the great help of technology our limitations are still immense.

The words Thank You seem so inappropriate to acknowledge the efforts, passion and resources that many on this network and beyond, brought to the table in response to our desire to prove that Nigerians are deserving of better governance and a superior way of life than is extant experience.

I came to this quest with much limitation. In deed the only thing I brought to the table was courage of conviction. Yet people I never met responded in such a manner that last Tuesday's back page review of those who made a difference in 2007 in This Day acknowledged we were the only ones that really campaigned and articulated a vision of where Nigeria should be going, reaching out to the farthest corners of Nigeria with our message of hope.

To say I am appreciative of how you all gave life to a dream will be an understatement. I want to assure that your labours of love will not be in vain and that our country will, like the Phoenix rise from the ashes because of your effort.

By the way, it is not yet over. First let me assure you that what INEC published is fiction that was written weeks before the election. My hope is that the light you have all lit will continue to overcome the darkness into which our country has been plunged by a few cruel people. If it means any thing I hope now to make the struggle for the emancipation of our nation my life.

Thank you all and please stay tuned. Aluta continua

Pat Utomi

The only help anyone can give Nigeria is to strongly stress the need for in definite strike. That is all that is needed the NLC can stop oil exports and once that is stopped things can get better. We will get no where unless they feel the heat! The NLC has to rise up to the task.Shut down Nigeria so that Nigeria can change for better!

Hello Mr Utomi

Thank you for being courageous enough to take up the challenge despite the lack of resources. Thank you once again. Nigerians know you were the best of all the aspirants but in a country like ours where it is a case of 'may the best man lose', what chance did you have anyway?

In the coming hours there will be detractors who will post replies saying; you did not connect with the grassroots, you are are an elite and that you had no political experience. Please ignore them and carry on with your fight for the 'people of 'nigeria'

Nagode! Ese! Thank you!

It is indeed the true measure of a man that in the face of a stolen mandate he still has the courage and conviction to continue in his dreams. Iwu's Inec so cooked the books that even FRESH was awarded more votes than Utomi. Mojisola Obasanjo was so dealt with that I think she came last in the presidential selection.
I agree with the moniker Aluta continua as long as Victoria is acerted asap. :frown:

Prof Pat Utomi,
What more can we say but just to wish that come one day when all issues becomes settled and Nigeria returns to its normal state where Nigerians becomes equal and caring, then the emergence of a presidential candidate like you becomes the real president.

Wish you the very best in life!!

Cheers,
Wale Akin

Hi, folks!

I wonder if Professor Pat Utomi (Opus Dei) has any intentions of participating in partisan politics beyond contesting to be the president, like contesting, either as a councellor, or as a local government chairman, or as a state house of assembly legislator, or as a house of representatives legislator, or as a senator, or as a governor, or as a deputy governor?

I am asking this question because I have come to realize that, in the past 8 or so years of non-military governance, several persons have had the singular benefit of hands on EXPERIENCE. And as time passes, more and more persons would have the privilege of hands-on political participation, a condition created by the stifling effects of close to 40 years of direct, or indirect military dictatorship, on the political evolution, and culture of Nigerians in that period.

With time, the likes of Professor Pat Utomi will find out that, rightly, or wrongly the empathy that he might be getting from a yet to be politically suave Nigerian society today, may elude him simply because, and in fact, he has no HANDS-ON political experience. For a citizen of a country with 140 million souls, it takes more than just being called "Mr. Nice Guy" to be the president, no matter how banana the federal republic of Nigeria may be. In other words, it is a bit presumptuous of Nigerians to take the old beaten path of "nothing-to-something", Yola Prison-to-Abuja, or Lagos Business School-to-Aso Rock transformations in politics in the future.

These, to my mind, are some of the gains of 8 years of non-military intrusion in the political evolution of Nigeria: the longest period ever, in the history of post-colonial Nigeria, without military induced arrested development.

Muchas gracias.

Don Juan-Carlos ABRAXAS (III)
