My Dream for Nigeria if I Become President
Nigeria is one of the richest countries in Africa but yet we suffer a number of problems. These problems which are minor and have so many solutions to them are being ignored for so long resulting to major problems. Nigeria is gifted as a country, and has the skills to resolve these problems. Nigeria is rich in natural and human resources. Natural resources like petroleum, lime stone, crude oil and many more, to mention a few. These materials can be traded to produce financial resources to resolve these problems. Human resources are plenty as well such as Doctors, Nurses, Engineers, IT Consultants, and Accountants to mention a few. But the problem is that the majority of them are abroad. However, even with these resources, Nigeria still suffers a number of problems.
Problems Nigeria Suffer From - Plenty of Nigerians today are being killed as a result of disputes (therefore rioting), strikes, religious and tribal matters. Where there is a riot most homes are burnt down which results to a number of people being homeless.
- Nigerians nowadays are dying as a result of lack of medical facilities and medical supplies and economic reasons. Most of the time lives could be saved if these where in place. It is either a patient dies from lack of Doctors or Nurses or a patient dies because they have to pay the hospital fees before being treated.
- Nigeria today lacks a lot of social amenities such as Police Stations, Fire Stations, Hospitals and Clinics, mostly in rural areas. States like Lagos, Calabar, Edo to mention a few, have social amenities but due to lack of maintenance do not function the way they are suppose to. Some of them are used for the wrong purpose. But states like Jigawa, Kano, who have few social amenities have been destroyed due to the Shirea rioting and have not been repaired.
- Transportation and the means of transportation are problems Nigeria faces. Most fatal accidents occur due to the poor transportation system, especially involving big vehicles. Most of the time, people tend to find out that most of the accidents that occur are caused by big vehicles such as lorries carrying building construction materials and tankers carrying of petroleum/ diesel, overtaking other vehicles on a narrow or pot hole road. These result to vehicles turning over, leaving drivers and passengers seriously injured.
- The economic status in the the country is very poor mostly because of our leaders are being too greedy with the nations money. Those in position use the money as though it is their personal money. Such funds are suppose to be invested in the improvement and development of social amenities such as Police Stations, Fire Stations, Hospitals, Medical Centres, Schools and the Transportation system.
My Dream For Nigeria If I Become President
.. - If I was the president of Nigeria I would build housing estates, mainly flats to accommodate people in need of shelter due to rioting and poverty. I would also give them small money to hold in their hand enough for them to start a business that will be able to take care of themselves and their families and to pay a small portion of their rents to the housing estate.
- I would employ plenty of doctors and Nurses encouraging them to come back from aboard and giving them benefits to compensate for the amount being paid to them abroad. I will invest in hospitals and clinics, opening up trusts and accounts to enable hospitals to purchase the necessary medical supplies for treating patients and will be able to take care of operations. Patients will be charged a fee to the hospital after the treatment. This way, lives will be saved and people will see the benefits of what the government is doing.
- Social amenities that are one of our most important essentials in the country. I will put hospitals, police and fire stations in each state making sure they are all well maintained and are in proper use. Each state will take responsibility to ensure that these amenities are maintained after the initial expenditure by the Federal Government.
- New roads will be constructed with wider lanes. New transport laws will be enforced. Lanes will be constructed for big vehicles such as tankers and big Lorries. Tankers and other big vehicles will only be only being allowed to carry certain about of crude oil, petrol and other products of petroleum.
- Standard means of transport will be put in place such as road worthy cars (state owned) as taxi, buses and consideration of a train system linking states together. Air travel will be made more affordable to the public. With the above mentioned suggestions will result in the creation of jobs. Jobs will be created for people of different skills and ages. This will reduced the problem of armed robbers and the youths being idle. People will be offered job opportunities and development of skill. As a result the standard of living will improve and reduce the number of people living in poverty.
- Lastly my dream for Nigeria if I become president is that I will improve the economy that it will be better than ever. I will give each state an amount each month to enhance their amenities and also improve the public facilities, therefore making the people feel satisfied with what the government is doing for their community and the society as a whole. Then I will invite some of my fellow Nigerians overseas to start businesses in Nigeria to help the country and also for creating job opportunities for people.
So my dream for Nigeria if I become president is that I would do my best to put all these things in place, just to make Nigeria a better place.
