I bet the Nigerian coaching crew will claim later that the boys are playing to instructions but the Super eagles 1st half performance was dreadful, Senegal looked like the team more likely to score, they made all the runs forward and Henri camara was denied by the post in the later part of the half. We don't look threatening upfront becuase our forwards (martins and Makinwa) are not getting the ball. But for our constant foul tactics against the senegalese which constantly disrupted their flow, we would have been at least 2 goals down now. Mikel Obi is impressing, Yobo two but the Super eagles need to step up the gear. Our qualification is still not sorted until game over.

Admin,
Haba! Don't mind Telesud dem dey show Ghana match come get technical problem with Naija! But Eurosoprt also had radio commentary so I kept up with that!

Scond Half:
The game came alive after Senegal scored, with the Senegalese seeking to score again and the Eagles holding their fort. But it died again after it was apparent that Zimbabwe had scored as it meant that both sides had qualified. But again I disagree with Uche, I think the stratergy was to go for the draw, but even Senegal winnig by a goal or two allowed the Eagles to go through, but seeing that Senegal had scored and was still threatning, again a great coaching desicion to bring on Kanu! this guys days are not over O!! I think Eguavon has seen the trick that Wenger knew making Kanu a super sub! As expected his coming on to the pitch brought the Eagles to life again, he took over the Midfield from Mikel Obi and they both combined to cause problems for Senegal. This commulated late in the game as Kanu made a run down the right flank, managed a great cross, Tony Sylva could only parry the ball to the waiting head of Obafemi Martins who promptly headed it home! And with his trade mark 3 sommersugar he celebrated! Nigeria 1 Senegal 1!

Now the Senegalese simply went in hard, especially after news must have filtered in that Zimbabwe had scored yet again, meaning that Senegal, Ghana and Zimbabwe could all still go through! talk about the group of death! So we saw quite a few fouls from the Senegalese but the Eagles in response took the Martins goal to turn up the heat, and predictably, the game opened up and the Eagles almost scored again again from a freekick and a Taiwo, Martins, Kanu combination! On the same right flank, just outside the 18, almost in the same exact spot that produced the equalizer, a quick through pass inot the 18, Martins raced to the ball, crossed across the goal and right across a flying Slyva, and bearly missing the head of Kanu!

But the Eagles were not done! A couple of minutes later, in the dying minutes, the golden boy sends a long cross from the same right flank right across the Senegalese goal, misses everyone but Kanu is waiting at the far left corner, he heads it back across the center where Martins, sends it unmistakably right into the Senegalese net! .....Bada Bing, bada Boom! Eagles 2, Senegal 1!

Man of the match, without a doubt: KANU!!!!!!!!!!!
He supplied both assists for both goals, and you saw teh game come alive when he come on. It great to see Martins come out of his goal drought, he needs to be rewarded for his great work rate! I dare say nothing to fear about the way the Eagles played, they actually played even better than I expected knowing a draw will take them through, now a repeat of 2004 as we go on to face Tunisia again. We better spank them this time! I think it was great to see Nosfor play in the game, and also allow Mikel Obi to start. Looks like Okocha may actually be sitting out this whole competition. The one thing the Eagles need to figure out still is how to send in long balls for Martins to chase down.

NB: By the way I heard during the commentary that Inter have convinced Martins to play for them this weekend, I believe, they will be sending a private jet to get him back to Italy and back to Egypt after the game! Man they are in die straits! but Martins in now caught in the middle!

Even though we are still dealing with resource control matter, sports and games are always fun - one thing I want to say is that even ball is political - now we are about to play Tunisia, don't let Oyinbo people use Ojoro and beat us, even though I say may the best man win - we must make sure we have a say in who is refereeing the game, because the ref can determine who is the champion - we have already lost world cup please don't let them drag Nigeria into anarchy - thankyou.
