Atiku’s Spokesman, Garba Shehu, Arrested By SSS!
BY Sunny Ofili

DATE : Tuesday, 19 September 2006
Officials of the State Security Service (SSS) this afternoon stormed the Atiku Abubakar Campaign Media Centre in Jabi, Abuja, and abducted Malam Garba Shehu, the Campaign spokesman.

According to Adeolu Akande, “the operation that took barely three minutes, the operatives led Garba down to a waiting Peugeot 406 car with Abuja registration number plate CY747ABJ, and drove him away at 1.45 p.m to an undisclosed destination.”

“The abduction, said to have been ordered by President Olusegun Obasanjo, came barely a week after Garba was picked up by agents of the same organisation (SSS) and grilled for two hours at their Asokoro corporate headquarters.”

“The agents, who claimed to have come from the National Operations Directorate of the SSS, did not volunteer any information, but the Atiku Campaign gathered that Shehu was wanted to substantiate the allegations against President Olusegun Obasanjo in the ongoing face-off between the President and his deputy. He  is also to be queried on allegations that he had been “bribing journalists” to publish statements from the Campaign Oraganisation.”

“The position of the Campaign Organisation is that whatever has been said against the President in the unfolding persecution of Atiku Abubakar have been informed by facts and backed up with evidence which have been deposed in a court of law, and does not feel obliged to volunteer anything to the SSS at this time. On the alleged bribery of journalists, nothing can be further from the truth. Whatever the Media office has accomplished is because of the professionalism of the media and the commitment of the journalists to the principle of fair hearing.”

“The Atiku Campaign Organisation deplores the constant harassment and intimidation which began with the President’s brief passover at the Media Office only last week, which the FCDA called a “routine tour” of the territory.”

“It will be recalled  that members of the President’s camp, including Mrs. Oluremi Oyo, Frank Nweke Jr,. Akin Osuntokun, Uba Sani, and PDP acolytes Ojo Maduekwe, Ahmadu Ali and Olabode George, have on several occasions called the Vice President unprintable names, and levelled wild and unsubstantiated allegations against the Vice President without a whimper from the SSS.”
.
The statement called on all lovers of freedom and democracy to condemn the constant resort to witch-hunting, harassment, and intimidation of the Vice President, his loyalists, and campaign workers

You know it is an offence to cause the President embarassment though it is apparently not an offence for the President to embarass himself by having an affair with a married woman while he himself was married.

These people have no shame! Very soon they will arrest the TRUTH!

Welcome to Abacha country. Now all can see that they are feeling the heat from the fire they started. They had better understood that there are 1,000 Garba Shehus unafraid to reveal the indiscretions and hypocrites that parade the corridors of power. Garba Shehu was standing on the side of truth for the world to see and he put Remi Oyo and all their spinmeisters to shame.

Desperadoes in action and getting more and MORE DESPERATE by the minute!

He He He He He He He He He He He He He He He He He He He
Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho
He He He He He He He He He He He He He He He He He He He
Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho

Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho
He He He He He He He He He He He He He He He He He He He
Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho
He He He He He He He He He He He He He He He He He He He

That is what Abacha and Wada Nas are doing right now. Laughing their heads off. Wada told us that Obasanjo was worse than Abacha but did we believe him? The evidence is glaring for all to see. 7 years of unbridled misrule. Corruption, duplicity and abuse of the rights of Nigerians. Still no light, no water, no security, no roads, no hospitals, no money, no jobs, no fuel .......No nothing! Only suffering!!

The day of reckoning looms and his desperation is there for all to see.

I for sing Zombie for SSS except in the light of the plane crash it is not quite appropriate.

Aluta!

Gwobe,
I hate any form of intimidation. It could have been wise if he was "invited" to substantiate his allegation.
Comparing Obasanjo to Abacha? Common Gwobe, were you home then or you were priviledged? Can anybody be a pain in the neck for Obasanjo than Wadas Nas was? Let me echo Ribadu, Buhari who is Obasanjo biggest opponent politically or otherwise is free, Gani is free and a host of others. I am sure you remember what happened to Abacha critics.
I do not hide my preference for Obasanjo, the lesser evil who turn the den upside down.

Folks,

How many Presidents do we have in Nigeria? Again, between Obasanjo and Atiku, who is the President?

I don't care if Obasanjo is the devil! If you are the Vice-President, and you think Saint Atiku cannot serve Devil Obasanjo, Saint Atiku should resign, saying "I do not want to have anything to do with this devil", period.

I rest my case.

Shehu Garba is not astanding for any truth but a paid propagandist just like the ilks of Oyo, Nweke, Ali et al. Let not leave the main issue at hand and vallow tribalism to becloud our sense of judgement. In as much as i deplore the coecieve and brazen use of pwer to intimidate the poor man it still doesn't remove the fact thet both Obj and Atiku are thieves. Though the former is of a lesser degree than the latter both who cares anyway.
A thief is a thief regardless of the amount stolen.
Both Atiku and Obj openly/clandestinely engage in extra marital affairs with both married and single ladies.
Gwobezentashi are u on the side of truth or you want to suppoort Atiku because u are a northerner? ''Else ba za ka ta shi ba gwobe in ba ka hi saa ba''
For all i care the 2 shameless leaders should fight each other to death maybe nigeria will be better for it

Note that as the nation mourns the deaths of many people, OBJ is busy intimidating people. One begins to wonder what really happened to the plane that crashed – a decoy that creates a breeding space for finishing Atiku in the battle.

Atiku and his camp should know that this man is a wounded lion that will not go down without killing everybody. Offensive, offensive, and more offensive is the key for such a spineless lion.

OBJ is now the court and the jury. He has less than a year to go. Nigeria courts and juries are waiting for him.

Except just like Obasanjo, Atiku was elected by the Nigerian people. "Saint Atiku" doesn't serve "Devil Obasanjo". He serves the Nigerian people under a constitution which he swore to uphold. So far, he has no reason to believe that the Nigerian people have lost confidence in him whereas with his Oga it is another matter pata pata. If anyone should be resigning, it is Obasanjo who should be falling on his sword. He has been deceiving Nigerians and he deserved to go a long long time ago.

Mr Man, you better care if Obasanjo is the devil because he is steering the ship of state into the deep blue sea mired in corruption and sleaze.

@ toy boy
I am opposed to arbitrary rule, the undermining of the constitution and the abuse of the rule of law. If Atiku is adjudged guilty of crimes against the constitution through a process that is seen to be fair and just, we will all be the better for it. But Kangaroo courts acting as investigator, accuser, judge and jury? Come on! If they can do this to him, think what they can do to you and I. Think what could be happening to many of our fellow citizens, voiceless and powerless in the face of unbridled tyranny.... and No, that Atiku is a northerner is not the issue here afterall, is he being attacked for being a northerner?

Arresting Garba Shehu is an act of intimidation by cowards. He is standing on the side of truth. Your chest beating sanctimonious Emperor truly has no clothes and his lack of shame is there for all to see. The facts are the facts and the genie is out of the bottle. Sorry, toy boy your written vernacular is not coherent but I trust your point is made in err...english.

I fear that by this singular act, OBJ has indeed hanged himself in the Court of Public Opinion.

What it unequivocally demonstrates is that OBJ is at his wits end.

This is supposed to be a democracy, not a military regime. Atiku must be laughing himself silly, right now.

What a huge disappointment. I actually expected more sophistication from OBJ.

@Gwobe
Any sane, self-respecting person without skeletons would resign if he were treated with the scorn Atiku has received like Pascal said. It brings no honor to say he would bear the shame. Does hee have no sense of self-worth?

Ever heard of Ukiwe, he resigned.
Even I resigned from a law firm and lived in poverty for a while rather than continue to take scorn from a boss in the name of cutting me to size. The world over, take a poll, given the circumstance, the honorable thing to do is resign.

But we know why he does not want to resign...
