Gunmen kill The Guardian's political editor Forty-one year-old Bayo Ohu, an assistant political editor of The Guardian was shot in the early hours of Sunday by gunmen suspected to be assasins. Witnesses said three men, who arrived in a white Toyota Camry car, visited Mr. Ohu in his house at Egbeda, Lagos State around 7:15 in the morning and fired several shots at him. The men, who were said to have left with his laptop, also waited a while to ensure that the reporter could receive no help as he lay bleeding and shouting for help.
