The Naked Shame of a Nation Print E-mail

“The fact that, Blacks look like human beings and act like human beings do not necessarily make them sensible human beings”. P.W.Botha. Former president of South Africa.

Ladies and  gentlemen, permit me to introduce “Mr Goat” the president of the “Unitary (there is nothing federal in our sorry nation) republic of Nigeria” and the Goat Governors, members of the national assembly, house of representatives etc. Yes it is as bad as that. Our nation is not even a banana republic, that will be too decent, it is rather, in clearer terms a “Goat republic”. With the level of unbelievable, shameless, and pathological inability to get anything organised, how much better are we than Goats? Infact I suspect a Goat as president will do better than the masquerades we have in “Aso Satan rock”

How can one even begin to imagine or contemplate the level of incompetence, and insanity of a bunch of leaders so shameless, so mentally inferior, that Yar Adua, a presidential candidate falls ill, and he is flown to a hospital in Germany? How come that in 8 years of Obasanjo’s Goat republic no functional hospital could be built in the length and breadth of Nigeria?

Is this not a vindication of the White racists who have consistently said the Blackman is inferior? How can the most populous nation on the planet explain the paradox of our dysfunctional infrastructure in the midst of so much resources if not pathological inferiority? How can a man be in the midst of water, and yet have no water to drink, isn’t this the sorry irony of our Goat republic?

If all, the most populous Black nation on the planet  has to advertise is ethnic clashes, religious riots, absence of electricity, absence of healthcare, extra judicial killings by the security forces, absence of roads, mind boggling poverty, babacracy  in place of democracy, streets filled with refuse and in some cases even human corpses, why then should we contest the facts, when the likes of P.W. Botha say the Blackman is inherently inferior, when it is obvious our past and present day misrulers have helped them arrive at such conclusions?

The shamelessness is so naked, that government officials have made going abroad to treat headaches, gonorrhoea,  cough, and even “tummy tuck” to reduce excess fat from their pot belly, one of the standard benefits of being in government, while they leave behind hapless citizens in our sorry nation to make do with hospitals better described as mortuaries. The bastardisation of  our hospitals is such that there are practically no drugs or equipment, and the few  Doctors  loitering around will watch you die if you no have no deposit. That is the mere existential  and animalistic level to which Nigerians have descended under a bunch of misrulers better described as Goats.

There exists on the face of this earth, no logic, excuse, or circumstances that can justify the level of incompetence prevalent in Nigeria. It defies all explanation  and constitutes the greatest example of the colossal failing of the Blackman. Nigeria has become a metaphor for everything that is Black, wrong and evil. The standard flag bearer of  failed states limping along on the pretext or semblance  of being a true or functional state. The greatest example of how not to be a nation.

Cuba, long described as one of the worst dictatorships in history has one of the best educational and medical systems in the world, same goes for North Korea, Iran, Syria etc considered as rogue terrorist states, but who in spite of those drawbacks  have functional and efficient basic infrastructure and services with some level of social welfare for the poor and disadvantaged. Compare this with the Nigerian pretence to democracy, who in spite of being awash with record amounts of cash still gropes in perpetual, institutional and infrastructural  darkness.

What we are witnessing, is the extent to which African misrulers  can hold their subjects, who are seen as slaves, rather than as citizens  in contempt. The African has demonstrated more self hate than any other race in the world. Every evil the African has committed, both the misrulers and the subjects has been against their own kind. African rulers now routinely steal money and hide in already affluent societies  abroad  while leaving their own citizens in penury.

The current sinister aspect of seeking treatment abroad for every catarrh, cough or sore throat, rather than refurbishing and equipping their own local hospitals for the benefit of the general public is just another eye opener to the manner of men, sorry Goats who parade themselves as rulers.

Except we bring the full hammer of justice of the long suffering Nigerian people to bear on these mentally inferior, and subhuman gangsters totally lacking any form of humanity or conscience parading themselves as rulers, who have only succeeded in making the Blackman a laughing stock and the  least respected  amongst the human race, we will collectively continue to be pauperised, lacking in any human dignity, and shackled in slavery.

a horrible drought of ideas,

a defective politcal system ,
defective educational system .

and the most incompetent govt the world has ever seen

the revolution will come when nigerians have suffered enough

for now it is not yet bad enough

where is oshiomole ,

that man who had the power to call for change but did not
that man who could have drafted a reasonable course of action and forced the tin gods in their corruption to follow it through

THIS DEMOCRACY NEEDS TO BE TRUNCATED SO WE CAN START AFRESH

it is only in nigeria that a terminally ill man is on course to become president,
if the man cannot handle the rigours of elecoral campaign .

how on earth will he survive 4 years in office

Yes, I agree that "banana republic" is too decent a term. However, rather than settle for "goat republic", we should have christened it 'Monkey Republic".

This is because monkeys especially, eat banans.

They have indeed "eaten" our country dry.

I am not an OBJite and I am not in favor of this government but I believe that we are all forgetting something. The article has dissected the kind of democracy we have and the kind of people that are ruling us.

Nobody seems to remember that we could have been worse than we are right now if OBJ has not taken over his government back in 2003 instead of flying around the world. Economic indices are improving and this is not a propaganda. If you think I am lying check out the file on Nigeria in www.economist.com and the trend will contunue for some years to come except Atiku becomes the President during which there will be a total reversal.

Agreed, our health institutions are nothing to to write home about but we need a strong macroeconomic index to pave way for private health institutions. The health sector right now is mostly run by the government which is not comparable to that of first world nations that depend more on private establishments. We have seen that the FG cannot run anything successfully from PHCN to NITEL and even NIPOST.

Granted this is not the best government, there is virtually nothing to write home about it but at our snail pace development, our grandchildren will see a better Nigeria. I agree that we need a new government but we can at least give this one 10%, not zero.

The knight of delta,

I DO NOT HAVE ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD TO WAIT,
I DO NOT WISH TO WAIT FOR ETERNITY
SOME HAVE DIED WAITING

you may want to look at the figures from the economist.com again and compare it with what you know about nigeria.

you will find out how enormously and grieviously wrong it is .............................

I totally agree with you Nero. If you read between the lines, what I am saying is that Nigeria is moving forward at a snail pace. It is not standing still. But I do not want to wait either!

My response to those that argue "it could have been worse " is simple. Its like having a 10 year old child with no medical problem who has refused to walk at all and insists on crawling everywhere, and then after much persuation etc etc, decides to stand and take a few steps, and then everyone begins to clap for him. I'ld rather someone kicks his sorry arse and let him realise he is just lazy and that his mates are already doing high jump and about to enter secondary school!
Imagine all the goodwill OBJ had in 1999, and see where we are today. Do people not realise you cant shave a mans head in his absence(apologies to MKO). Whatever econnomic indices we have to show, No country can make progress without carrying the people along. You cant antagonise a long suffering people this much and turn around and tell them to wait for fruits of reform programs when they can see you and your cronies eating the whole tree!

Il'd have to disagree on the health system issue. Private health institutions have always favoured the wealthy. Yes in America you can have a head transplant if you can afford it, but what about the several million without health insurance. Look to Europe, Health is run by the government and while it may have its own problems it most certanly much more available to the masses. First world nations (a term i detest!) private health system is a supplement to a well run public one! Moreover Cuba which is hardly first world has a world class health system with a life expectancy of about 78years which beats the US!

Dear Chinedu,

Thank u for beginning your article with a quote from the Groot White Krookodile P W Botha, May his gentle soul RIP.
I have always said just as when rawlings refused to join the jambore for Ghana's 50th which our Big Clown in Agbada attended gleefully that any criticisism on the Black man is aimed wrt Nigeria.
Our Charlatan elites have played all cards viz tribe, religion, region, state, gender, resources etc etc given their palpable lack of ideas of good governance and nation building.
Even Botha came up with the idea of apartheid and was able to use it and marshall resources to develop SA while snobbing the UK and US. The only idea that ever came out from Nigeria post independence was Ahiara declaration, Ojukwu, 4 cardinal principles Awo, Scientific Populism, NPN ( Okadigbo) and Aminu Kano's Talakawaism. As can be seen, none of these made it to the centre of our national life and thus failed woefully. The nearest one Scientific populisim was so vague and ossifified that massive corruption became its nemesis.
Nigerian leaders are indeed below goats and Botha is very correct when you place Nigeria as a reference nation. :frown: :frown: :frown:
