A Symbolic Lesson Print E-mail

The inevitable has taken them into custody
117 of us are now in the hands of Him
So sudden
Plus first lady too

More reason human beings
Should do good all times
More reason for reflection
Let ordinary man and woman
Of our land
Enjoy basic things of life
Before we finally answer the call

I see the tragedy as symbolic
Death:
Cosmetic surgery and plane crash
Almost at same time!
Too emotional to know my state of mind

Ironical, isn’t it?
If important amongst us must die
In overseas hospitals
While we proclaim our love
For our mother’s land

Ironical, isn’t it?
If human beings should die
While trying to live
While trying to avoid being old
While trying to avoid death
Travelling by air safer than travelling by (our) road

But Supreme Being has ways
Of teaching lesser beings some lessons
To reflect.
Let our tragedy be a lesson
As we mourn our loss
