Olayinka Olalekan Thinking of something unusual is to see Fela parading himself in military attire, on an usual occasion for him to lead an army parade in Ota farm being chaired by Obasanjo. One’s expectation will begin to rise to see him led to the well prepared stage by Sheu Yar’adua to perform on the millennia valediction for khaki boys, whose prodigious performances shall soon be hailed by Gani Fawehinmi. Of course, everyone’s eye adventure will not only build colossal cast on Babangida not because he is sitting next to Wole Soyinka, but marvel at the duo for choosing to grace the occasion in the same dress. The colorful occasion which will begin as soon as Chief Abiola, who specially have been hired to MC the occasion majestically walked hand-in-hand with Abacha who solely had nominated him to the army boys as the only qualified bloody civilian to pilot the occasion. But one event seems most remarkable, you may ask me if I delay to say, it was Umaru Diko and Tunde Idiagbon’s long embrace which lasted for almost thirty minutes. Although, I personally had mounted some bad feelings on the sitting arrangements until when Dele Giwa beckoned Babangida for the list of all special guests invited for the occasion. Honestly, many skeptics who have anticipated fears like me were quickly defeated by our fears as the ceremony took on a very blissful note around 6:12 pm. Now to address the real issue is to bring in Awolowo into the scene, a prophet who has been divinely ordained to anoint the bald-headed Ota farmer on a political journey the gods had only revealed to him. Imagine however if, on the contrary that a Prophet like Tunde Bakare had earlier pre-informed Obasanjo that the would be prophet Jerry had cursed the anointing oil with hot failure in secrete, let us just imagine how simplistic the truth is that the stiff-necked Ota farmer will dispose all warnings just because he had vowed never to like Bakare’s nose. Even despite Obasanjo had openly criticized Bakare as a false prophet who sees no good luck except misfortunes that formed rainbow upon his head. Still, no matter how hard Babangida put dust in Obasanjo’s eyes, I suppose in my opinion that, it is not sufficient to make all of us blind that there was no spell on Obasanjo’s head since 1978, if not we should remind the fools that abiku has finally died despite the charms tired around his legs, waist and neck in the hand of the Babalawo that made him gbekude after 20 years. Should we say it was destiny that death took abiku in broad daylight at the instant he swallowed concoction that would prolong his life for another 20 years? Let us recollect another one in Ghana, Ignatius Acheampong whose footstep Obasanjo followed, a rotten defiant whose greediness robust by enslaving many generations of Ghanaians in perennial poverty. Again, should we say it was destiny that made him land in the fiery judgment of Jerry Rawlings who had patiently lowered his net in the seas for years? If not a near judgment, what could have made the American Air-force-One with George Bush and Condoleezza Rice on board sends a distress call to Al-Qaeda to prepare them for emergency landing in Kabul? Let me remind us that on this fateful day, George Bush was on his way to the Arab Peninsula, Saudi Arabia to be precise to sign a treaty that will lead to an immediate capture of Osama Bin Laden in Afghanistan. Now at an instant, lo and behold, I shall begin to open the rotten cans of Nigerian politics a product of prostitution that strongly intertwines with history. Let us again begin to recall the adventure tale, several of which I shall elucidate in sobering parallels. While I recall some fabulous details of idiocies of Babangida, Abdusalam and Buhari, I was overwhelmed at another spectacle one is a lunatic demonstration of professor Nwosu who claimed Satan was not to blame for jeopardizing Adam’s immortality in the Garden of Eden, can anyone imagine that very strange testimony of a coward who went hiding for fifteen years like a street dog running with its tail dangling between its legs? Coward! Coward! Coward! Is Professor Humphrey Nwosu not a cheap coward, who today is beatifying the very man who put his name on the historical landmark of failure? Now, that the entire land constantly offers itself ridicule, such that Ogun priest, who we all consider a housekeeper of tradition, no longer considers going to the dogs as sacrilege. What a blatant? Look, the phenomenon offers itself a clear metaphor, a clear summative that tosses one in doubt of this extent of madness, which absolutely attests that moral values finally have lost its destiny in evolution of human society. As a matter of fact, the aspect of this story is sweet to tell, the era of tyrants, thugs, hooligans, who had longed intrigued on the evolution of a peaceful society, the epoch of vicious barbarians who over the years have hypnotized humans that no such thing like peaceful coexistence of humanity, such parallel eras have cornered every microcosm of reality, choking every struggle of human existence. To its blessed memory, the overthrown Babel that took George Bush colossal tolls of nepotism to build was thrown down by immense effort of true humanity on the day of reckoning, lo and behold, let us recall the simplicity that Obama’s victory is the climax of historic phenomenon for the liberation of American people, this is epitome of civil liberation and the overthrown of evil cartel of tyrants. Now, let us come home and remind ourselves that same Babel took it emergence from Obasanjo at the instant he seduced Nigeria to an infant prostitution, raped and robed her dignity as a nation, the shameful act of which he had no remorse of. Nigeria as a nation has lost her dignity as a democratic society, a realization that is elusive synonymous since when Obasanjo raped her and recreated her destiny towards prostitution in 1978, like the nepotistic George Bush, Obasanjo favored other brutal gang of rapists who have continued the shameful acts in sobering occurrence in the course of time. Yet, I recalled, it was the impregnation resulting from the very act of gang-rape by Obasanjo and his cohorts that Awolowo challenged in 1979 election. It would be more sufficient in my opinion, that Obama victory finds synonymous description in one of Soyinka’s formulations– a culminating annunciation of what history itself had long proclaimed, one that would result, inexorably– in Senghor’s formulation as the Equilibrium of twentieth-century Humanism, the Civilization of the Universal. But before history took itself to fruition, its course of actualization was deeply marred in abortiveness of hope, a realization that was constantly messed by the vast evil of Marxists, Leninists, Stalinists, Maoists and even the dying breeds of Nazis those of whom I do not underestimate in artistry of evils. Somewhat within the purview of the disgustful totalitarianism, Obasanjo carved for himself a vast rotten solitary for deceits, which he had tolled over the years; it is upon this kind of subterfuge he founded pseudo-democracy in Nigeria. Let no one be deceived of democracy in Nigeria, look, it has fully blown out, the Pandora Box has revealed itself before our very eyes twenty years Obasanjo tore into piece the fetus of democracy in Nigeria and fed it to his children, wives, friends and those who partook in the large gathering of 1979. Somehow, the consequences of such evisceration are beginning to manifest, the earth has refused the collaboration as it is now revealing the body they buried at night. Let us recollect the collective efforts of those spoilers, who donned the masquerade to perpetrate evils on humanity, let us expose those psychos who had dug pits under our legs in our sleeps, let us remind ourselves that Obasanjo did not alone called Ifa –a liar, it was him and the then attorney general of the federation, Richard Akinjide who formulated the two-third theory they used to murder democracy in Nigeria. Now that, thieves are beginning to put aside shame and dance in the public, let me refer again to the group of collective propagandists, Babangida, Abdusalam, and Buhari, they are hypocritical wagon of evils, whose existence are vivid degradation and disgrace to the evolution of human society. Now, let us begin to retell the story to Obasanjo that the weapons of disdain he fashioned against his enemies are beginning to murder his households, the fetus of democracy he fed to his children and friends are beginning to cause trouble in their bowels, the strangers he took to the shrines had fed gods with prohibitions and sacrilege. To be continued… Olayinka Olalekan is pursuing a PhD in the United Kingdom.
