What Has Speaker Dimeji Bankole Done To Them? PDF Print E-mail
By Isaac Oyedele

One cannot but keep wondering what was going on in the mind of Ahmadu Ali the National Chairman of PDP when he undiplomatically excused the Speaker of the House of Representatives from the NEC meeting of the PDP. What are the kinds of issues that they want to discuss there that Speaker Dimeji Bankole must not hear? Is it on the growth, development, progress and good governance in Nigeria or some very selfish, ill-motivated personal agenda that is meant to perpetually under-develop the development of the Nigerian State? It is very apparent that the motive behind such secret meeting is not only sinister and outrightly wicked, but meant to be a clog in Nigeria’s wheel of progress. Therefore, it is a good omen that Bankole is not found in the midst of scavengers and in the congregation of the unrighteous. And, this is very important, so that, history and posterity could judge him right. But top say the very least, the kind of senseless mistreatment of the number four citizen of the country is not only condemnable, it is unthinkable and completely unheard of. How and for what reasons will a top ranking government official be treated in such humiliating manner?

And, this was done so that Obasanjo will remain the Chairman of the BOT of the PDP at all cost. This is in spite of the abominable negative publicity he has attracted in recent times because of his covert immoral conduct. And, it is in this regard that Chief Adebisi Akande, remarked that, “Obasanjo is a product of a tragic family system. Sometimes ago, the press was publishing pictures of Obasanjo side by side with an Igbo traditional ruler, and that was suggesting that Obasanjo’s paternity is a controversy. Obasanjo himself never had a celebrated family life like ordinary, normal people. An ordinary normal man would go, either to the church or to the mosque or to the traditional system to marry a wife and will be breeding children and developing a family. In the case of Obasanjo, it is the case of leaving one woman after the other, climbing one woman after the other to produce children. Children produced under this kind of atmosphere definitely cannot build a respectable family. So, Obasanjo belongs to a tragic family system that there is no way he can escape this kind of wrath. I think those who allowed such people to rule this country should go back and think twice. And you would notice that Obasanjo never wanted merit around him. He would want a hairdresser to be speaker; he would want a hooligan to be a governor or a fraudster to be a senator. These are the kind of things that Obasanjo is interested in. See the people Obasanjo surrounded himself with while in office, and you’ll understand what I’m saying. A leader who cannot control himself, how do you think he will be able to control a country? If Obasanjo is a man of evil, he will never escape evil in his life time. Therefore, I’m not surprised about what is happening to him after life in office”. So, in this kind of circumstance, what do people expect, but evil?

What is even more disturbing and worrisome was that at the venue of this show of shame the President, Umaru Yar’Adua and the Senate President, David Mark, were physically there, yet they never spoke against the animalistic and crude behaviour of Ahmadu Ali. They kept mute because it was convenient for them to do so, and because they are part and parcel of the evil agenda to bring Nigeria to her kneels at all cost. So, what is all the noise about due process and the rule of law? Is it not merely paying lip service? This is because if indeed due process and rule of law must be followed, then, there is just no way the Speaker would not have attended the NEC meeting of the PDP. However, the Speaker because of his impeccable credentials and impeachable democratic orientation is seen as a threat to some Leviathans in the PDP. The hawks in PDP are not happy with the way and manner he had carried on as the Speaker of the House, particularly the way he went all out to block the leakages in the system. For instance over 450 billion was discovered not to have been spent and this colossal sum was returned to the coffers of the government in line with the anti-corruption, due process and rule of law stance of the present administration. In fact, the 7 billion National Assembly fund that was not spent was equally returned to the treasury. Hence, the Speaker has gone all out to show leadership by example. It is this that the retrogressive forces in PDP perceive to mean an attack on entrenched interest of this parasitic class. And, their rapacious interest is not in tandem with the collective interest of the Nigeria people. These are people who are never straightforward in their dealings. There are used to using public funds to line their on and off-shore accounts. They have no regards for the people whatsoever, because they never take themselves seriously.

But thank God, Nigerians know whom there true leaders are and they can read through the scheme and antics of those in the corridors of power. But for how long would Yar’Adua and his co-travelers continue to deceive Nigerians and continue to mouth things he never believed in. but it is just a matter of time before the real motive behind this kind of cowardly act is exposed. Hence, both Ahmadu Ali and the PDP should publicly tender an unreserved apology to the Speaker. Not only this, the PDP must go ahead and tell the whole world what the party discussed that they don’t want Bankole to be part of. Is it about how to handpick officials of the party before and after the convention? Or is it how both the President and Senate President will manipulate the outcome of their cases before the tribunal? Of is it about how the PDP will intimidate the judiciary as it clears the debris of electoral fraud across the country? Why will the Speaker be walked out of such a meeting that has in attendance several governors? Is this how to properly conduct the affairs of the so-called largest party in Africa? Is this not a very barbaric way of doing things at this stage of our collective history and development? So, what is Ahmadu Ali and the PDP up to? Has PDP become a secret cult that decent people can no longer join? The PDP has shot itself in the foot and should look for ways of correcting itself through democratic and constitutional means, before it eventually implodes.

You know and Nigeria know that PDP is a dying political/military party which do not have the citizens at hearth of their agenda. Obasanjo's mission is to put a nail on the coffin before it is lowered down the grave. Obasanjo is the single biggest liability to PDP and national politics. Something is making him want to stick around when common sense says that ex-presidents quit partisan politic (in order to evolve into high roles).

Bankole is an imposter in their scheme, and they want to remind him that he is trespassing. It is also a warning that he should be careful, and ready to fight an ugly fight. It a sign that need not be mistaken and he better develop a 3rd eye behind his head. Bankole should seek God’s intervention just as David did in the bible when Saul was bent on killing him.

For Nigeria, it is a window of opportunity to re-calculate the damages that will tally up for being cawodly with Obasanjo boys. They say it is do-or-die and Nigeria has not come to think out the conotations of that statement. Some people know the full meaning of do-or-die, but a majority does not stop to think about it.

Was Bankole elected or selected legitimately. Anyone in the Nest of Murderer Party should not be pity or supported. When they finish eating each other to death, hopefully, real black people can take over.

Beside, nemesis always catch up with evil doer. Name them, Abiola, Ige, Abacha, Ibb, Objoke, Ette, Nnamani, the two dead Senate Presidents (cant recall their names). We can even go far, Murtala. Some of them tried to do the right thing but it was too late as nemesis came sooner.

I think you will find that Bankole was excluded because he chose the wrong father. His father was a signatory to the G21 letter and the inner-inner caucus felt that the son might report to the father the plans to keep OBJ in the BOT and to move the March 8 meeting to the South-Southwest.
