Nigerians In Thailand At The Mercy Of Mr Henry Offor. PDF Print E-mail
By Prince Jerry Chike Obinabo

NIGERIANS IN THAILAND AT THE MERCY OF MR HENRY OFFOR.

From the day Steve Agbana the former Nigerian consular in Thailand left, the Nigerian community in Thailand knew that things will never be the same again. During his tenure in Thailand, he was like a father, Mentor and God’s sent to all Nigerians living in Bangkok, apart from representing Nigerian commercial interest in Thailand he also assist all Nigerian citizens living there by one way or the other. By constant interaction with Nigerian citizens in Thailand he discouraged many from illicit business thereby encouraged them into genuine ventures. Virtually he knows all Nigerians by their names and tackles all their individual problems personal. During his tenure, any Nigerian citizen being deported from Thailand for visa related problems were given travel documents without any charge by the consular, like wise marriages, driving license and many other things that required consoler’s endorsement were done without any charge. There was then one Nigerian community and rumors of Nigerian police informant were non-existence, neither was this current Nigerian Drug Mafia’s in Thailand.

After the exit of Steve Agbana from Nigerian embassy in Thailand, Mr. Henry Offor replaced him as the Nigerian consular in Bangkok Thailand. Since Mr. Henry Offor took the mantle of authority in Bangkok, things have changed dramatically from good to bad. The current consular in Bangkok, Mr. Henry Offor’s act portrays a person in pursuit of personal commercial interest. From all indications, it is obvious that Mr. Henry Offor is more of a businessman in Thailand than being a diplomat. He created many avenue of earning external income apart from his salary. Unlike the former consular Mr. Steve Agbana who certifies documents for Nigerians in Bangkok without charging fees, Mr. Henry Offor charges as high as 100 us dollar for endorsement of any document. For a Nigerian to get married in Thailand presently, he or she must cough out a minimum of 200us for Mr. Henry Offor. To translate Thai language written on A4 size paper which cost less than 10us dollar is being charge 100us dollar by Offor through his intermediary. Many Nigerians are languishing in detention camp because they could not afford to pay their dear consular Mr. Henry Offor to obtain their traveling document.

Early December 2007 Nigerian consular in Bangkok Thailand was dupe of his hard-earned currency due to his quest to acquire more wealth. His closest associate introduced him into a fraudulent online business named colonyinvest.net. His closest associate named Sunny Okorie was an ex-convict who has served many years in Thailand prison for drug related offence. The colonyinvest.net where Mr. Henry Offor invested and lost heavily was a high pyramid scheme that lasted for four months. The prevalent element to Colonyinvest.net is that of referral program, this simply means that you earn a commission based on the number of investors you referred. Without weighing up the pros and cons the consular invested with his personal Bangkok bank account number 1574822464 and using the following names as his business front (1) Solo (2) Evenagel (3) Daniel (4) Chizom. While the consular was busy doing all this business, he totally lost interest in Nigerians welfare in Bangkok.

It was when it became clear that Nigerian consular is hustling like any other person in the street that many Nigerian in Bangkok started their illicit activities in alarming rate. This is the scenario of how Nigerian drug mafia originated in Thailand.

Some of these notable illicit drug king pins that operate under Shadow are OBI, DAM, DAN , FRAYO, THEO, SIM, and host of others who are as elusive as to find . Some of the above mentioned names are merely to conceal their true identity and as such may not reflect their real names.

The activities of Nigerian Bangkok Mafia are so Alarming to the effect that good Nigerians who do Legitimate business are beginning to feel the impact. It is now a game of if you can not win them, you join them. It is petinent to note here that is during the tenure of Mr. Henry Offor’s regime as Nigerian consular in Bangkok that Nigerian drug peddlers sky rocketed to unimaginable alarming rate.

Statistic have it that, In every month, 3 – 6 Nigerians in Bangkok are caught with any of the prohibited drugs in Thailand. In every two weeks, an Asian lady is caught either for delivering illicit drug or bringing it for a Nigerian in Thailand. In every week, a Nigerian in Thailand is caught for illegal use of other country’s passport and in every six hours, a Nigerian in Thailand is caught for any illegal activities.

Their Godfathers as they are being called, are so rich that they can pay any amount for bailable offence that concerns them. Take for example a seasoned drug dealer (Name withheld)paid half a million Thai bath for his bail in a twinkle of an eye. I am becoming worried by recent developments.

Presently, it is rumored that the Godfathers are lobbing Nigerian Consular in Bangkok to help them deport any Nigerian who is against their illicit drug activities. It will be of utmost importance if Nigerian anti drug agency and Thais will work together to flush out this organize criminal before they consolidate.

It seems that our country is not capable of sending people of high intergrity to represent their citizens in foriegn lands. Why should a consular be supporting drug dealers and our so called president is there doing notjhing. Many of my friends who visited Thailand and have one or two things to do in the embassy complained bitterlly about the kind of insult they got from MR HENRY OFFOR who called himself Nigerian Consular inThailand. I am calling on MFA to re-call mr henry offor back to Nigeria with immediate effect before he turns all Nigerians in Thailand into drug dealing. Thanks to the author Prince Jerry who took a bold step in exposing this kind of evil man.                      from Austin Ubah.                                                                                                                                 Germany

We keep hearing complaints from Nigerians who live in Thailand about the ineffective and corrupt consular officials in the Nigeria house there, especially their ambassador. As usual our sleeping Oga will not take care of this problem until the noise reaches a crescendo and we are given the Adeniran treatment in full view of the whole world.

I think any drug dealing Nigerian deserves to be in jail or in fact hanged! that includes the Jerry guy, the diplomat and any other connected Nigerians in that illicit trade. No wonder genuine nigerians going to thai airports are treated like animals on account of the actions of these igbo drug dealers!

I wish we talk like civilized people, the issue is about Nigerian drug (cocain, herion, etc) dealers on the street of bangkok. Do we encourage those doing it or discourage them? Lets leave Mr.Offor and Mr. Jerry out of this question.

Well I am trying to discourage Nigerian drug dealers on the streets of Thailand by starting with 2 drug dealers called, Mr.Offor and Mr. Jerry

Well from Jerry's write up he claimed that Mr. Herry supports drug dealers and from Mr. Henry's rejoinder he claims that Jerry informs police about drug dealers. Two of them never accuse each other of doing drug business rather Jerry claims that offor supports them and Offor claims that Jerry implicates drug dealers and they goes to jail. So how do u start from two of them
