Hmmm, Owunari, thanks for a very refreshing comedy strip...the banks back home in Nigeria are comedians...and those guyoyos and babes in micro minis out to strip u of ur hard earned monies in order to reach their goal and not be made fun of at end of yr meetings...whilst their various boards quaff and laugh in their private dachas and jets:p

PS>>>....anywaz, my own money is the an old clay pot behind my maternal grandma's hut:)

Lol! 'Banking' in Naija is really something else...More like kalo kalo. I'm confused who the worse culprits are: Politicians? Bankers? or Pastors?? Very sad state.
Any body that can escape the bug of materialism/ostentatious display of 'wealth' in 9ja has my unqualified respect and so far they are becoming an extinct group. The 'my Mercedes is bigger than yours' bug snared Turai and her endless stream of marriageable daughters, the same bug bit Soludo and his convoy of 'jeeps', its definitely bitten Madam Akunyili.......Infact, the worst culprits seem to be the more educated. I tire for 9ja! so far only Jakande and Buhari seem to live without all that crass and vulgar display.

My we be brave to grow into the leaders we were born to be. And we be able to evolve beyond this sad level of poverty of the mind.

Hi, folks!

Please recall that the Executive Governor of Kwara State, His Excellency, Dr. Bukola Saraki, was the Managing Director of Societe Generale Bank Nigeria Ltd (SGBN), before it crashed over 6 years ago, before he became the governor of Kwara State.

Till today, SGBN has NOT settled the outstanding amounts trapped in that bank, belonging to its customers. Meanwhile, Dr. Bukola Saraki sits pretty in Ilorin as the executive governor of a state in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and a key stakeholder in the ruling political party, PDP. Furthermore, Nigeria has already noisily re-branded itself as conforming rigorously to the dictates of the rule of law.

In the final analysis, banking in Nigeria will be safe and sane when Madame EFCC, Hajiya Farida Waziri, seriously clamps down on the likes of His Excellency, Dr. Bukola Saraki, and speedily brings him to justice.

So, {you see?}, when US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton yabbed the EFCC, if only they read her lips carefully, they would have known that she meant what she said, said what she meant, and had no apologies whatsoever to make for appealing fervently to Nigerians to "shine their eyes"!

The problem remains the Nigerian status quo: a profligate and prodigal political elite.

Muchas gracias.
