I'm forwarding you this article of mine that was originally published in 2005 on a different site about Michael Jackson. I Actually predicted his sudden demise in the article.
Ademola __________________ Nobody in the world can cure a binge! One would have expected the pop star Michael Jackson who had reached multi million dollars settlements out of court precisely in 1993 over accusations of child molestation charges to exercise great restraint and caution in dealings with kids. But unfortunately, he exhibited his illogical sense of judgement when he was seen holding hands of a cancer survivor boy in a Martin Bashir documentary that was purpoted to show the remarkable aspects of his life. There is nothing as bizarre to hear in the newscast, read on the internets or newspapers these days other than this child molestation trial of Michael Jackson. In her dramatized epic testimony a woman who was identified as Jackson former maid of five years told the jury in a warbling tenor of broken English how she saw her son sitting on Mr. Jackson's lap with a coloring book. How she spied the two under a sleeping bag with Mr. Jackson holding the boy from behind as they watched TV. The maid's now twenty four years old son recalled how Mr. Jackson groped him on three occasions before his eleventh birthday, and how he had stuffed $100 bill down his shorts after groping him. Another weird woman that testified against him in order to further led credence to what prosecutors called "Patterns of child molestation abuses from the past" was filled with tears as she narrated how she unwillingly approved Mr. Jackson request to sleep with her son in his bedroom for thirty nights. Isn't that strange! The current accuser's mom said Mr. Jackson molested her son, forced him to drink alcohol, and held her family captive at the Never land ranch against their will. But in his usual manner Mr. Jackson not only denied the charges, he said he would be exonerated and acquitted of all the charges. Recently, he compared his present ordeals to what Mohammed Alli and Nelson Mandela went through. He told Rev. Jesse Jackson on a Radio program that he had found strength in both great men's stories. It was baffling to Oprah Winfrey that Mr. Jackson could made those comparisonsand she made her reaction known on her TV program on the day she interviewed the comedian Jon Stewart. TV talk Queen said: "It is wrong for Michael Jackson to compare himself to Nelson Mandela." Of course, it was wrong for him to compare himself to the two great men but he has his freedom of speech to say anything he like in his distressing moment by continuosly playing the racism card to further garnered the sympathy of those black folks around the globe. I don't think there is anyone out there who is disputing the fact that Mr. Jackson is not an enigma sort of person. Among the reasons he attributed on why he so much loved the kids were that they are the most sincere creatures on earth. He believes that adults had failed the universe and they are no longer trustworthy. He Michael wants to live angelic lifestyle like "Peter Pan" (Never grown up J.M Barrie character) and in order to reach such a state of perfection in this seemingly imperfect abyss world one has to sought the friendship of kids and showed them genuine affection by really catering for their needs. Certainly, he fulfilled part of his aims which is to help others in need. He is a generous giver and that one would have been inculcated into him from his childhood through his strict Jehovah's witness upbringing. Also, there is no denial in the fact that he is a victim of child abuse. Michael is a product of a dysfunctional family. His tyrant father slept with his older brothers girlfriends, and treated Michael and his siblings cruelly as if they are in the world to serve him. Michael has no childhood, he has no youths, and he has always been living in an escape imaginary world where by he has to live for others through entertaining when life had no attraction even for himself. It was because of these sad memories of the past that he decided to choose kids as his own best friends but he overdone things in a way no one would least imagine. Why is that man called Michael Jackson had troubled himself with all those things with which he had been troubled? As the old saying goes, "Throw a lucky man into the sea, he will come up with a fish in his mouth." Michael is a lucky person, it is not a small feat to be the best-selling recording singer of all time among other numerous accomplishments. That in itself is a cause for envy which he believed. Having success is one thing, how to sustain it is another. The question is this: How did Michael Jackson handled his own successes? There is no doubt he handled it poorly by dancing to the ballad of those people who wanted him to give up his black identity by indulging in a series of plastic surgeries that consumed his finances. He had fortunes and star power which had eluded genius Africa-American singers such as Gertrude "Ma Rainey" Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Bessie Smith, Billie Holiday etc. each of whom recorded more than hundred albums without reaping from it. The re-awakening in Michael Jackson to fight for what he considered to be a just cause was too late. His present ordeal started in the fall of 2002 when he met with the Rev. Al Sharpton in Harlem to solicit his support for the partnership he intends to form with the late prominent attorney Johnny Cochran that would look into the allegations of racism in the recording industry and also try to end the historical oppression and exploitation of Africa-American music artists. At that press conference meeting with Sharpton the angry Jackson lambastes the former Sony Music President Tommy Mottola who once married to Mariah Carey for exploiting him on his album "INVICIBLE" that didn't sell more than two million copies in the United States and for claiming to have spent $25million in promoting the poor album. He called him "A mean racist, and very, very devilish." Even Al Sharpton was surprised that Michael Jackson said something no one in the enterntainment world would not dare to say even if it were to be true. By saying that he not only risk his career, he risk possession of everything he has accomplished so far. And one of such possessions is the beatles and Elvis Presley catalogues that he controls. When the going was good he sold half of those catalogues to Sony music and retains half for himself. Right now, he is in a bitter feud with sony music according to Rev. Jesse Jackson who told CNN Carol Lin in March that Michael is being accused of child molestation charges because Sony music and some powerful forces in the music industry wanted to dispossess him of those catalogues rights. Why did Western World so much trusted Michael Jackson that they allowed him to acquire the rights of the multi million dollars catalogues of two of the most prominent names in western World music industry of the 20th century? Maybe, Michael was successful in his bid because he was perceived to be like one of those white folks called "All American boy" with a deceptive plastic surgery that turned him into a white man and his erstwhile marriages to Lisa Marie Presley an "All American girl" for sure, and Debbie Rowe the white woman who happens to be the biological mother of two of Michael three kids and surprisingly, she shocked the "audience" by eulogising Jackson in her testimony that was supposed to corroborate the prosecutors conspiracy theories. Anyone who saw the pajamas court appearance photo of Michael Jackson would totally agree with me that he is now an emaciated man, he has grown wrinkle and pale and his eyes no longer shine with joy and hope but only express sympathy, sorrow and regret. It's been a tough period for his family. His sister Janet showed her clumsy embarrassing image during the superbowl last year when she caused a furor that made 'holy' people who lived across middle America(Red States) felt uneasy with the wardrobe malfunction she created with her fellow reveler Justin Timberlake. Though, one could argue, that this current case is about vengeance to get at Michael Jackson or that the accuser's mother is money greedy or looking for cheap fame. Excuse me for a second, it seems there is a prevalent culture in the United States of bizarre and desperate people looking for fame and money by all means. One could cite numerous examples, Monica Lewinnsky, the woman who accused Kobe Byrant of rape. The woman who claimed she saw human finger on the chili she bought at Wendy, the so-called buried dollars treasures that two guys said they unraveled etc. It's hard to imagine that all of these things are going on in the U.S.A whose politics is about old fashion of morality and faith. In my own opinion, I think it would be wrong to assume that Michael Jackson is innocent of all the previous child molestation charges. It is very possible he might have done something in appropriate with one or two kids in the past. Even if he is acquitted and exonerated as he had boasted he can never bring back his dignity. He has already been villified in the media notably from the tabloids such as the New York Post that did no reporting about the drug addiction of Right Wing Conservative Syndicated Radio host Rush Limbaugh. Black and White America is like Nietzsche Conceptual Formula whereby "All that exists is just and unjust and equally justified in both." Michael Jackson's life could be illustrated like that of a character called Clay who illustrated the trapped position of Middle Class African-American in the controversial 1964 Off-Broadway production of Imamu Amiri Baraka's play called "DUTCHMAN". In the play, White society demands that he Clay be black in his culture but white in his logic. If he rejects this racial "schizophrenia" by truly following white logic, he will wreak vengeance that kind of reason demands. But if he instead commits himself to black culture, his dancing, singing and poetry-which are only sublimations of his desire for violence-he will be exploited by whites. Unable to authentically stay the same and unwilling to choose between violence and sublimation, Clay dies on his white girlfriend Lula's knife. Baraka's very controversial revolutionary play proposes three options for blacks:LIVE A LIE, MURDER, OR DIE.
