Obasanjo has proved himself an ogre on a rampage. Nothing can stop him. Since all the kings horses and all the kings men, could not put Humpty Dumpty together again, likewise all the harness of reason, stands incapable of holding down a man, who is being seduced by the illusions of omnipotence. Obasanjo suffers an incurable priapism whenever power is to be raped. This illness followed him from his military dictatorial days to the theatres of democracy. He is a genetically malformed tyrant. Nothing can change him except Nigerians getting up en masse and chasing him and his horde of thieves out of power and relevance.

By Emmanuel Franklyne Ogbunwezeh

Fellow Nigerians!

Enough is enough. We must rise and reject thievery in high places. This is not an evangelical homily, where the pastor after picking pockets in Jesus name, asks us to go home in peace and be patient with our hopeless poverty and abide the temporizers that cause and consolidate them.

Shakespeare was right. Every bondsman, in his hands lies the keys to cancel his captivity. Nigeria is being destroyed by instalment. Those we never elected, stole our mandate. And pursuant to their mercenary agenda, have being perpetrating an abomination of desolations on Nigerians and our posterity. Our future is being embezzled by thieves of the ilk of IBB, Obasanjo, Chris Ubah, Joshua Dariye, Tafa Balogun and Alamesiegha. And we are sitting glued to our seats like a congress of mindless zombies. Our future is being shot out of the sky by the PDP- which is the largest party of pathological depraved thieves in Africa , as well as the greatest pestilence ever to afflict Nigeria : Yet, Nigerians are looking on in postural inaction, like a bunch of brainwashed idiots.

That Nigeria is continually being waylaid and plundered by a gang of political gangsters, is thanks to our collective stupidity. We have refused to learn from history. That is why we are condemned to repeat it. George Santayana cannot be more right. But the time is there, for us to realise that Nigeria is ours. Our destiny lies in our hands. Nobody can salvage Nigeria for us. Nobody! Not even God will come to our help, if we sit down in timorous inaction. Sophocles knew this and he wrote it down for posterity! Heaven will never help those who will never act. If we sit down like emasculated cows, and continue praying from here till Kingdom come, our problems will always lie there waiting for us to solve them.

The PDP led by Obasanjo has constituted itself into a dangerous equation. We must solve it like all equations. We must use the elimination method. This method is simply contextual. Almost all those in the seat or corridors of power today are recycled thieves and reinvented failures. Let’s start with Ahmadu Ali. This was an idiot who wrote himself into opprobrium that “Ali must go” became a byword for the fight of good men against vile and grotesque incompetence. When Obasanjo needed a hatchet man to preside over his continued disembowelling of opponents to his idiocy, he excavated this fossil and chose this recycled failure. Today Ahmadu Ali presides over the ruling party that is hell bent on mangling Nigeria out of existence.

We should act. We should rise up and sack Obasanjo’s government and his PDP thieves spread across Nigeria . We should not wait for the next election to sack this cabal of fools. We should act because these set of idiots and their likes in the past, made sure that Nigeria lost the 21st century. And they are hell bent on ensuring that our children and their posterity lose their future as well. We should act because poverty is not our birthright. Our grandfathers did not descend from Job. We were not created by our various Gods to entertain this kind of idiocy from mercenaries who care no hoot about our welfare, only about their diseased avarice and pockets. We should rise up like the Ukrainians rose in the Orange revolution to say no to a cabal of consolidated thieves in high places. We should rises like the Georgians rose against Shevadnezer and his thieving conglomerate. We should rise because we were not created by God in his infinite wisdom to come to Nigeria to eat shit from idiots.

Could someone tell me, why Tafa Balogun could steal over 10Billion naira, and got a 6 months holiday for his troubles. What is the justice in this instance, while men, who stole as little as a piece of yam have spent 15years awaiting trial for the simple act of trying to forestall gastronomic emergency, which hunger holds in superabundance. Yet Obasanjo is an honourable fighter against corruption. Could someone tell me why Vincent Azie was sacked because he exposed that 98 percent of the corruption in Nigeria takes place within the presidency. Could someone tell me why over 210 of our brothers and sisters have to die in the Bellview and Sosoliso airline crashes respectively, if those charged with our aviation industry have been doing their job? Could someone tell me why our international airports have degenerated into aviation hazards, with tarmacs filled with potholes courtesy of disrepair and dereliction, and grazing grounds for cattle? Yet billions of naira are appropriated every year in the budget for it. Where has the money gone or where is the explanations thereto? Could someone tell me what our aviation minister is still doing on that seat? Does reason not recommend that he should be kicked out since he is shameless not to tender his resignation, for what from all indication is a case of presiding over a rotten parastatal?

This PDP government thinks that Nigerians are fools. Obasanjo voiced it out that Nigerians are idiots. We are a nation of over 145 million idiots. I think Obasanjo is right. If he had been wrong he and his senseless cabal of buffoons will not last 3 minutes in power.

Could somebody tell me why our roads have become the thresholds to hell, while Tony Anenih spent 300 billion naira on them? Neither Tony Anenih nor Obasanjo’s government has given us any account of what happened to that whooping sum. Could somebody tell me, why a governor could travel to Europe to have cosmetic surgery to tuck in his beer belly, or why our first lady has to die in a 0.5star hospital for cosmetic surgery, if not for the fact that they have succeeded in destroying our healthcare delivery system in furtherance of their selfish ends. Could someone tell me why Nigerian governors, ministers and local government chairmen purchase properties abroad, while many of their subjects are in tenants to the elements, under bridges and flyovers in many parts of the country

In fact, Nigerians should rise and salvage the future of their children. We should carry stones. Borrow them if it comes to that, and drag all these thieves into a pile and dispatch them to hell, which is their rightful recompense. The names of the thieves are there for all to see.

We must cleanse our land. These thieves are the scapegoats for that cleansing. They must be offered to the gods of our anger. Such sacrificial victims require a holocaust. They must be totally consumed if our land is to be cleansed.

We really need to take a stand here once and for all. These thieves have stolen enough. Power belongs to the people and not the PDP. We must fight and rid our body politick of the Alamesiaghas, Chris Ubahs, Tafa Baloguns and their likes. We must fight these congenital rogues ruling Nigeria because the curtains are now up. The pretences are now off. Obasanjo is now showing Nigerians that he is as spineless an idiot, as all other dictators, who have made a profession out of destroying Nigeria for a good measure. The government of Olusegun Obasanjo is surely writing itself into history as one of the greatest pestilence ever to afflict Nigeria . Since 1999 that this oafish tyrant came into power, promising to fight corruption, corruption has metastasized greatly inside his government and the cabal that aids him in his hypocritical plunder of Nigeria . Nigeria is now in a socio-economic coma. She is politically secured as a thermometer meant to rise and fall at the capricious whims of political thieves. As the days go by, Obasanjo manipulates his idiocy into a disembowelled position of moral rottenness. This man who promises to fight all that is wrong with the Nigerian body politic is at the head of the gang of robber barons, dangerously decimating Nigeria and embezzling her posterity.

He came promising to invoke fire and brimstone on the corrupt heads that laid siege on Nigeria . He promised to slaughter all the corrupt sacred cows, at the judicial abattoirs, which will send the right signals to all crooks. He scarcely finished those deceptive words, than he configured his government into a nutritious Petri-dish for the cloning of political sacred cows. Among the sacred cows was Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida. This man who stole Nigeria blind was left and given the peace and quiet to enjoy his loot. Whoever says that crime does not pay, does not know Nigeria .

In Nigeria , crime does not only pay. It blesses. It is a huge investment; a multi-billion dollar industry that is so lucrative, that it recommends itself to anyone who has gloriously lost his conscience, like many Nigerian politicians have. Crime is so lucrative in Nigeria that even pastors and men of God have equally joined the fray. One confessed that he went into crime to get some money to expand his ministry of soul fishing for God. I do not blame our man-of-God, for forgetting that obedience is better than sacrifice. I blame the government that made crime an irresistible option for many of her citizens.

Instead of probing IBB and his plunder of Nigeria , Obasanjo whom we hired with our votes to do that job, in bovine stupidity, started inventing excusing for his cowardice. He timidly told Nigerians to show him where IBB stashed the loot, so that he could go after it. He stupidly asked us to provide evidence of misdemeanour against IBB. I wonder what evidence he requires, when IBB’s salary, both as an army officer and a president cannot suffice to support the lifestyle he is leading. The difference between his lifestyle and his salary is not supplied by manna from heaven. Obasanjo was blind to that, yet he is claiming to be the guy that will lead Nigeria out of the socio-economic wilderness where she is hopelessly marooned. That was the first compromise that scuttled every moral authority he pretends to have, and took the wind off his anti-corruption sails. He saw the king of corruption, and ducked in timidity. Tell me how he can stand up to other thugs, who make a living out of crime and corruption. We thought Obasanjo evaded probing IBB because he was afraid. We were wrong. He took this evasive path because he was corrupt. His antecedents are well known to brook a recount here.

Obasanjo came to power on the wings of bribery. His path to Aso Rock was paved with the gold and silver of corruption, electoral fraud and undue process. He bribed the PDP machinery in Jos to steal the place from Ekwueme, who was a more civilized candidate. Ekwueme cried foul. Sycophants drowned his voice. Today, quite ironically; almost all the sycophants, who fed justice for Ekwueme, to Obasanjo’s bribery-power have been one after the other consumed by the same ogre, which they aided to scuttle justice; starting from Barnabas Gemade to Jim Nwobodo. That was in 1999. Gemade was used and dumped like a useful idiot. This was a man, less than half as clever as he thinks he is. After serving the fraudulent purposes Obasanjo scripted for him, he automatically mutated into a decrepit old dinosaur waiting for extinction. Like all dinosaurs, Obasanjo mercifully made him politically extinct. For Jim Nwobodo, the Tomboy of the second republic politics, Obasanjo used him as a hatchet man to split Ekwueme’s stronghold. At the end of it all, Obasanjo sent him like a used orange peel into the trash can of irrelevance. He felt that he could make some noise before Obasanjo like a mafian executioner strangled the life out of his flag investment; the Savannah Bank. Since then, this former Obasanjo’s man-Friday has been politically castrated and rendered impotent even in his own backyard.

In 2003, Obasanjo repeated what he was good at. He fraudulently attempted to smuggle in his caprices into the electoral act, to enable him sail smoothly back into office. He knew that Nigerians were terribly disappointed in him and his party, that the risk of not retaining his address at Aso was a very strong possibility. He stole the party convention again, this time with the apparatus of state. Audu Ogbe and Orji Uzor Kalu helped him in that heist. Today, Ogbe and Kalu are reaping the whirlwind, since they sowed the winds of injustice. Obasanjo then went ahead to steal the elections. PDP raised electoral fraudulence to an ontological level. It was an unprecedent display of how thieves run a state.

Today, Nigeria is still been led by PDP. This party prides itself as the largest party in Africa . It is laughable but true; laughable because this is not a party at all. True; because this is the largest conglomeration of thieves ever to congregate at place. A roll call of the PDP membership is an undignified roll of those who swore that Nigeria will never progress, advance or develop.

This is a duty we owe ourselves and our posterity. Nigeria is too big to be the property of one man and his ruling cabal. Our destiny is ours. Liberty is never given. It is taken. Nigerians must rise up and take their liberty. It is their birthright. We have been silent and stupid for so long. The time is here. We must cross the Rubicon of our collective stupidity and inaction. They cannot take us for a ride all the time.

If this call is treason, I prefer to be a felon, than sit in silence while thieves keep on ransacking our commonweal. Let history record it. I did not sit in silence. I raised my voice against Obasanjo and his horde of buccaneers that have sworn that Nigeria will remain a stagnant and decadent country.

Culled from ThisDay newspaper 13th December 2005 - Nigeria; where humanity loses existence.

For mortuary and cemetery attendants in Port Harcourt, the grief that has enveloped the nation is nothing but a lucrative avenue to make money as relatives and families of victims of ill-fated Sosoliso Airline Flight 1145 that crashed Saturday paid through their noses yesterday to give their deceased loved ones a decent burial.
At hospital mortuaries and burial grounds in the Garden City capital of Rivers State where 107 souls perished between Saturday and Sunday, it was a business boom as attendants took advantage of the haste to bury the victims, most of who were children, charging high fees.
Grave diggers, for instance, hiked their fees from N5, 000 to about N10, 000 per grave while mortuary attendants raised their charges from N2, 000 to N4, 000. But the victimsí relatives were left with no other choice than to pay these high fees as they needed to bury the bodies that were fast decomposing.

ONE WOULD HAVE EXPECTED THAT HIS GOVERNMENT WOULD HAVE TAKEN THE GESTURE OF CONSOLING THE LIVING BY BEARING THE RESPONSIBILITY OF BURYING THE DEAD..BUT NO! EVEN THE PRESIDENT HIMSELF LACKS HUMANITY..HIS 3RD TERM AGENDA IS MORE IMPORTANT, SO EVERYMAN FOR HIMSELF...IMAGINE A FAMILY THAT LOST KIDS NOW HAS TO SEEK 30000 PLUS ANOTHER 12000 JUST TO BURY THEIR KIDS?
I AGREE WITH YOU.. MAY GOD DEAL WITH OBASANJO BE IT EVER SO SEVERELY AS THE CRIES AND ANGUISH OF INNOCENT AND HELPLESS SOULS REACH OUT TO HEAVEN.

TO 13.12.2005 08:34 #2 Unregistered (Posting about grave diggers increasing their prices)

Don't you know that this is good for the local economy? At least grave diggers will have more money to put into their retirement accounts. Isn't that is a boon for the 'economy'?

There are those who are all about keeping the 'economy' afloat even as we witness unspeakable loss, sorrow and horror!

If you think Obasanjo is the problem with Nigeria, you are truely foolish and sick in the head. Mention those before him that did better. Your problem is deeper, Obasanjo is your smoke screen.

I Have No Problems With Anyone Talking Against Mr. President And Indeed He Is Spanked On A Daily Basis By Nigerians One Way Or The Other. But After Going Through Your Article I Felt Sorry For You. I Could Only Read Anger And The Use Of Bad Language. Indeed If You Are To Be Our Leader Or If Someone Like You Will Be Our Leader I Wonder What Will Happen To Us.
You Were Not Very Clear With Your Solution To The Problem But One Can Infer Easily That You Are Suggesting Murder. That We Should Murder Our Leaders. If We Do So, What Type Of Society Are We Going To Build? One Of Dog Eat Dog?
Mahtma Gandi Once Told Members Of The Indian Congress That If They Wanted Their Independence Through Murder And Bloodshed He Would Have Nothing To Do With Them. Subsequent Events Including The Breakup Of India Into India And Pakistan Proved Him Right. And If There Is One Thing The Two Countries Desire So Much It Is To Restore The Peace That They Lost.

In Your Anger, You Forgot To Be Specific. Your Accusations And Generalisations Have Not Helped Us, Your Readers To Appreciate Your Position And So It Is Difficult To Accept Your Conclusions.
You Have Used Very Strong Language In Describing Those That You Mentioned That One Will Tend To Assume That You Have Damning Evidence To Support Your Claims. In The Case Of Ibb You Merely Alluded To His Lifestyle. This Lifestyle You Did Not Let Us Into. Is It That The Man Flies A Private Jet, Or Has A Harem Of 50 Wives Or What? Of Course , While I Am Not Supporting Ibb I Also Know That As A Former President Of Our Country You Dont Expect Him To Live Like A Pauper; He Is A Retired General. So Please Supply More Information On His Lifestyle To Enable Us Evaluate Him Before We Follow You To Your Conclusion (god Forbid)

The Situation In Our Country, Which Is Almost Everywhere Requires Intelligent Discussions, Analyses With A View To Developing Strategies That Will Make Us Move Forward - Not Bloodshedding.
You Cannot Also Divorce Our Values, Norms, Long Period Of Military Rule, Absence Of Governance At The Grassroots From Whatever Has Become Our Lot In This Country. It Is Not A Party Matter At All.
Tell Me The Degree Of Progress In States Or Local Governments Run By Ad, Anpp And Other Parties. Indeed The Pdp Today Appears To Be Better Than These Other Parties. Have You Ever Asked Yourself Why Almost Every Politician Is Rushing To Join Pdp? You Need To Ask Yourself Several Questions And The Answers You Get Will Lead You To A Better Discussion On The Nigerian Problem.
Are You Aware Of Schedules 2 And 4 Of Our Constitution And Who Is Responsible For What? It May Be News To You But 80% Of What Our People Require - Education, Markets, Roads, Schools, Hospitals, Even Power - Are The Direct Responsibilities Of Both The State And Local Governments. These Are The Reasons For Which They Are Given Monthly Allocations And For Which They Collect Internally Generated Funds(local Taxes, Tenement Rates Etc). Yes Some Items Are On The Concurrent List But The States Are Part Of That Arrangement.
My Brother Anger Will Not Solve Our Problems. We Have Been Educated To Develop Our Minds To Solve Problems Not To Escalate Them Or To Resort To Jungle Or Stone Age Methods.
The World Has Since Moved On.

You Desire Change No Doubt But In Which Direction Is Your Mind Flowing - You Wrote That We Should Terminate A Sitting Government During Her Tenure Of Office. What Colour Will Justice Take In Your Own Republic. That Sounds Like Candy Staton When She Sang I Am A Victim Of The Very Song That I Sing.

Please Take A Deep Breath And Let Us Reason Together.

You May Call Me Any Name You Like But The Truth Is That You Have Revealed So Much About Yourself That I Will Not Dare Come Near You If I Meet You In Flesh. Indeed The People You Are Condemning Appear Like Saints To Me.

Thank You

Taslim, please quit this apologist thinking. The writer has every right to his opinions. No one cares who is ruling Nigeria if things are going right. I am tired of your rantings and defensive postures here.

What Franklyne wrote is on the button. How can you reason with leaders and politicians who are unaware of their responsibilities? And you have the audacity to state" what colour is justice'? What colour is justice under Obasanjo when you consider the Ngige-Uba affair, the murder of Bola Ige, the patting on the back of Tafa Balogun, the retaining of Professor Okebukola and others.

You are definitely a paid agent on the web. Your thinking is so puerile and pedestrian you should not have space here to put down any opinions.

This another glaring abuse of freedom of speech. Anybody reading Franklyne is bound to reach the conclusion inevitably that he is an angry man. (So also is his chorus member above- Birds of the same feather) The title itself is insultive to Patriotic Nigerians. Alex Ekwueme would not associate with his absolutely false allegation on the PDP Primaries which has set a world standard in Election Primaries. Ekwueme lost gallantly not because he was ineligible but because he was not from the zone from which we wanted a President. He has put all that behind and has gladly installed his brilliant daughter in that Govt to ensure its success. He also ensured that President Obasanjo got 99% of the votes of his people at the elections. We don't do tribe here - there are many other internet sites for tribal (Igbo) irredentists and separatists. Fellow Nigerians are not at liberty to call the rest of us fools nor should we continue to suffer their unfair criticism and unjustified insults of the PDP and the Presidency. But in this particular case no reply is merited. This writer calls all our leaders thieves and advocates their assasination. He is obviously a lone ranger! He needs help. Calling other commentators Govt Agent does not also help. Everbody is entitled to his views but you cannot advocate murder of leaders . But when you exercise you freedom to change your mind (as your ilk often do), and sing another tune, then you will get readers to listen. I, too, cannot safely come near this writer as at now.
