Ayaan Hirsi Ali PDF Print E-mail
By Elie Smith

Who is she? Mrs Ali who is a former Netherlands member of parliament (MP) was born on the 13th of November 1969[1]. She is of East African ancestry, precisely from the largely chaotic official Somalia. What is not known with precision is whether she is from the stable and democratic Republic of Somaliland, which was a former British protectorate or from the messy part of the Republic Somalia, located south of Somaliland and which was an Italian colony. Mrs Ali since she was catapulted to the summit of World news is not known because she was elected as Netherlands MP, but more because of her habitual flare-ups against her former religion, Islam. The second has endeared her in the minds of some, while the first has made her a fine focus of Islamic bounty seekers or seekers of heavenly life. While Mrs Ali seems to be honest and believes in her capacity to contribute to change her former religion, which she thinks mistreats women, some of those in the West, especially in continental Western Europe and her country the Netherlands, were not as passionate as she was and still seems to be.

They seem only to have loved to see a Muslim, especially a Muslim, who because of her skin colour is discriminated in her former religion, say loud and clear, what Westerners had known but because of their hypocrisy and quest for political correctness they never  able to express, albeit in public. Mrs Ali seems to have become the pace setter in telling the pretentious Western Europeans and the entire Western world and their formidable networks of Liberal sorcerers, what she thinks Islam truly is. In the sprit of John Stuart Mill and to a certain degree, as western democracy some times preaches, Mrs Ayaan Hirsi Ali is seemingly right and also entitled to voice her opinions on anything including Islam. As the saying goes, only he/she, who has on undersized shoes, knows the pains it causes to his/her toes. But it is not known how she would have been received or classified, if she had denounce one of the Western world’s excesses, which Homosexuality is, as she has done or is doing with the Islamic faith. The Western world, especially those who have erected Mrs Ayaan Hirsi Ali and the Bangladeshi female author Taslima Nasreen to hero status, will do well to show that freedom of speech is not just a selective concept, by paying attention to all people who are reticent with their own social and cultural views of the world.

The perception of Westerners around the world will be given or considered impartial, if Homosexuality is no longer considered as benchmark for liberty and freedoms in other countries. Furthermore, the danger with the path that Mrs Ali has taken in public and this with a surprising tinge of insolence, to confront Islam, doesn’t only stand in the fact that she currently tops the chart of the list, established by Islamic fundamentalist as person worthy of elimination, it is in the contributions that her declarations makes in the tarnishing of Islam in Europe, a continent that doesn’t appreciate God. Islam is a religion like Christianity and Judaism and whose rules are inspired by God and not by men.  And it is true that, in those three religions, there are some misinterpretations or mixtures of what is Devine with traditions and also politics. But that doesn’t in anyway mean that; anybody can stand and ask for parts or the entire religious rules to be changed simply to fit his/her perceptions or comforts. Worst, as a respecter of God and formerly Islam as Ali claims, she must know that her campaign smacks that which is in parallel being carried out by Homosexual groups in the Western World and beyond, to make Christianity dance to their tunes.

But such calls must be resisted. If some one doesn’t like something, there are two options: you either quit as it seems Mrs Ali has done or stay quiet forever. But Mrs Ali seems to have chosen both ways, and it is not only perilous for her, it is far more to millions of Muslims living in the Western world  and in particular continental Western Europe, who are it must be said, victims of the most vile forms of castles in Spain and discriminations.  I love Ayaan Hirsi Ali in every sense and share in her current travails, but I equally think, she must tone down, and this, for her own good and also for millions of practising as well as none practising Muslims in Europe. If she could, I would have wanted her to come to France and see the realities of Muslims. For sure, all immigrants do face discrimination in France, but those faced by Muslims are worst, because they an intriguing mix of insidious discriminations.

Hello

While your discourse on Ayaan H.ALi and her current predicament seems balanced. I wonder if you have delved a little bit into her personal story to get a glimpse at where she is coming from and the circumstances that propelled her to where she is.
I read her personl autobiography " Infidel" and was moved to write to her, as a fellow African woman now living in the West. ( I did get a reply from a screener and not herself for obvious reasons) While I wasnt brought up Muslim, members of my family including my grandmother were, and so Iam certainly not an expert on Islamic teaching although I read the koran form time to time as an intellectiual exercise. Ayaan came from a background of abuse, cultural traditions that opressed and mutilated their women all in the guise of religion and purity.
An independant soul ( as thought by all religions) that seeks its own truth must question why Allah who creates all men/women as equals will subject some of its creation (women) to such horrific existence. Imagine how a soujourn in the West can literally serve as a slap in the face when you see other of Allahs female creations living a life of their own choosing..?
I relate a 100 % with Ayaan. Asking tough questions about beliefs that do not hold true for you any more is the beginning of finding one"s truth. Imagine what the world would be today if one man Called Jesus or Mohammed hadnt questionned the practises of their people centuries ago. They felt God had chosen them to teach a new message... ..
Which was not popular at thetime (one of them was killed as result) and one had to flee for many years.
Islam is a religion that does not tolerale self relection. even God the most high allows that of us in our own minds...
I pray for Ayaan and her saftey

Peace..

Ayan Hirsi Ali is a free woman who is free and courageous enough to assert her freedom. You can spin around it all you want, but that is the way she appears to people like me.

If a religion incorporates violence and the maltreatment of women into its doctrines, then it has to be resisted by all who love freedom.

Instead of putting out this very unconvincing piece here, you should feel inspired by Ali's courage and hard work.

This very issue is a topic I am least interested in, but I am drawn out of my shell on this one, as I am wondering what is really the motivation behind Ms Hirshi's moral crusade against her own very religion at birth.

As we all know the motivation of many western European countries these days, to do away with their ever growing large Muslim population, who are now deemed violent, uncivilized or oppressive towards women and all sorts.
But, I am also wondering if Ayan Hirshi was set up as part of a tool to this dirty job, of ridding Holland of their now unwanted invaders?
However, unwittingly Ms Hirshi then became a scapegoat and ultimately betrayed by her own very "masters" who had used and exploited her naïve thinking and over zealous tendencies.

The fool is being used big time. She has benefit too. At least she was promoted with alacrity to the position of parliamentarian within record eight years of her arrival in Netherland as a refugee. That is a country where African refugees are grudging given toilet cleaning jobs, even for well educated ones that have legally resided in the country for decades. But they are just playing the ostrich. Their game plan is so plain apparent.
