I This Nigeria sef! What a misadventure You sometimes wonder whether it is blood that flows in the veins Is it the cursed crude oil? Their heads, their faculty What is their brain made of? Saw-dust? Sliding shredded Naira notes? Their hearts, their minds Is the hearts made of stones? Venom? Immobile electrons in our power cables? Do they ever sleep at night? If they do, what is the color of their dream? Green, White, Green? Or do they have dreamless sleep? II May 29, 2009 Two years! You can’t be serious Two years, six more to go? They are wonderful people Devoted to the delusions of their unseen progress The sexuality of their 7-point agenda Intoxicated by the charms of a re-branded rapped prostitute That we are left wondering what they smoke in the morning before going to work That is if they work at all III
I closed the nursery window this morning After listening to the soliloquy from Mr. President last night He was performing at an empty theater Long after the his country men walked out in jubilation But with heads bowed Ashamed of the iniquity and hypocrisy in Aso Rock No need pretending to care about the seedlings The devils in Aso Rock have shielded the rays of the sun from Radiating to the malnourished inhabitants of this once beautiful country They have frozen their emotions Their conscience But in suspending their morality Was their sense suspended likewise? Did no expression of sympathy and countenance fill up their chasm? Was their eyes silent? Did they look? Were they looking at a stopped watch? Maybe it’s time to get a surgeon First for the sick president Then for the sick nation and the heartless devils in Aso Rock Maybe what we need is a heart transplant before image rebrand IV
It’s May 2009 Nigerians Sleep, sleep fellow countrymen After all, our president has been sleeping for 2 years Even before the interruption from his deep slumber in Kastina state government house I will see you on the other side of 2011 Or is it 2015 Lord!
