Congress for Popular Democracy (CPD) on the Niger

Delta Crisis

We have watched with dismay the faceoff between “Lagos Elders” and the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND). Our position is that the only way those who benefit – either directly or remotely -- from the oil in the Niger Delta can be immune from the actions of the revolutionaries in the Niger Delta is for them to be part of a speedy and equitable resolution of the Niger Delta crisis.
