BAYO OJO, NIGERIA'S ATTORNEY GENERAL: IS THIS THE KIND OF MAN TO ADJUDICATE FOR THE WORLD?

 We are very much ALARMED to learn that Mr BAYO OJO, the current Attorney General and Minister for (IN)Justice of NIGERIA, has been nominated by the country’s President, Mr Olusegun OBASANJO to serve in the United Nation’s International Law Commission (ILC) at Geneva, Switzerland.  It was recently reported that Nigeria's Permanent Representative to the UNITED NATIONS, Ambassador Aminu Wali, confirmed Ojo's nomination by the government. He said the Minister, who was at the UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY last week and had been taken round UN missions to campaign for the position. We also learnt that besides, last Friday, 5 November 2006, the Nigerian mission to the UN held a pre-election reception for Ojo at the Nigeria House, to SELL his candidacy for the UN position whose election comes up on 16 November 2006.

As the election into the ILC, is to fulfil the commission’s object which is the promotion of the progressive development of international law and its codification, and as there are now 42 candidates from various countries we would like to suggest that the NIGERIAN candidate be REJECTED. He is clearly NOT the kind of man to ADJUDICATE for the world, given his notorious precedents as Nigeria’s chief legal/constitutional officer. He is a master of JUNGLE justice and JURISPRUDENCE

We are SCARED for the world of JUSTICE because Mr OJO is not exactly the kind of legal expert the United Nations agencies are looking for. He is an unrepentant stoogie of one Mr Lamidi ADEDIBU, an Ibadan-based  political thug of Mr Obasanjo’s ruling party, the Peoples Demoncratic Party, PDP,  and has a record of willingly carrying out illegal and unconstitutional actions for the party since he was made the Attorney General and Justice Minister a few years ago.

Apart from the several MISINTERPRETATION of court orders including the Nigerian SUPREME court orders as in the case of LAGOS State Government Versus the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT on the latter’s illegal withholding of the state’s Local Governments FUNDS, he has been MISLEADING the President not to obey court injunctions, decisions and pronouncements. We now have VOODOO justice

He is currently engaged with the LEGAL and CONSTITUTIONAL experts and practitioners in the country over his politisisation of judicial matters for the sake of his godfathers’ interests. The cases of the IMPEACHMENT processes of state governors in EKITI, ANAMBRA states and especially OYO state are illustrative of his penchant for the BASTARDISATION of the laws and constitution of Nigeria

 Mr OJO is currently involved in the PERVERTION of justice in OYO state regarding the Federal Court of Appeal’s judgement on Wednesday 1^st November 2006 which pronounced as NULL and VOID the “illegal” and “unconstitutional” impeachment of Senator Rasheed Adewolu LADOJA as the Governor of the state on 12^th January 2006. Everyone, learned and unlearned, could see through Ojo’s PERVIDY.

He has refused to follow the generally held view of the IMMEDIATE reinstatement of Senator Ladoja as the correct interpretation of the Appeal Court’s judgement but after consultation with his political masters (Mr ADEDIBU and Mr OBASANJO), he came out with his own bizarre advice to Senator Ladoja and the Nigerian Inspector General of Police, Mr EHINDERO, to await the disposal of the impending APPEAL, which is yet to be lodged by their camp to the SUPREME COURT.

We beg that the nine other interested AFRICAN nations, namely Kenya, Gabon, Tunisia, Cameroon, Egypt, Mali, Libya, South Africa and Mozambique, be allowed to take the 8 allotted seats for Africa.

It will be a TRAGEDY for humankind to give a seat to Mr Bayo OJO, a judicial DISASTER. The world is already too full of CALAMITIES, and this Ojo’s own  is one that is certainly PREVENTABLE.
