Why call it carnival? Nigerians will never be tired from coping nonsense from abroad.

These pics actually look very nice. Very colourful and maybe we finally have something that has the potential of drawing ppl from around the world. That is of course if the govt can fix electricity and security problems first. All in all, not a bad show at all.

correct yarns my bro, instead of them to be inventive and coin out a new African/Nigerian names and concepts so that we can really lead all Africans in the right way and not the way, of imitation.
By the way, "Son of Delta" as an Ijebu/yoruba/nigerian/african/world citzen I am in full support of self actualisation of all peoples of the Niger delta and all people generally.

The above is the typical response expected of the commentator above. Eternally bitter and negative in his outlook - never finding anything positive to say about his society or his people, attaching ethnic coloration to every view he expresses etc.

One would be hard-pressed to find ONE positive sentiment he has expressed on this medium about the society that gave him that Nigerian identity.

Negativity upon negativity, all is negativity. How miserable!

Auspicious.

Auspicious,

I dont share your tokunbo "Nigerian identity".You Nigerians for one cannot think of anything innovative. You just copy and copy and copy.Worst all you always copy when several people have already copied; Having a ´third hand`value for your products and services. If we look into history people who just adopt other peoples success instead of using the success of others as a mere point of reference when up being less succesful or total failures.
How on earth do we expect Nigeria to promote a carnival and expect tourist to come when there are carnivals all over the world? Where will you place this in comparism to other carnivals like that of Brazil and Cuba?Dont you know that the carnivals in Continental Europe were a huge success because they did´nt identify it as a carnival but as parade.
Today hollywood is the strongest film industry not because it was the first in the world or even in the USA but because they were able to indentify the shortfalls of the British film industry which was at that time the most succesful.Hollywood did not adopt the name of the film industry that existed in New york before it neither did it adopt the name of the world´s largest at that time(British film industry).
Today all of us know what "Nigerian identity" means adopting tokunbo of the tokunbos. India adopted hollywood´s name and coined out bollywood for themselves.Today we in Nigeria have copied the Indians we have a useless industry that is called nollywood which will always remain inferior because it has an inferior identity.
Of recent I heard about what they call Afro hollywood very soon we may hear of Afro bollywood.

Perhaps you need tokunbo brain to see that these acts of copy-copy is not doing you Nigerians any favour.
