All work and no play they say makes Billy a dull Christian, with this in mind, the Pastors and members of the House on the Rock Church (London Lighthouse) recently came out to play and to compete in different sporting events at their annual inter-house sports dubbed the Lighthouse Challenge.

The event which is now in its 4th season is an occasion for members to come together and have fun, with their invited friends and family in a sporty atmosphere. According to the chief host, Pastor Michael Omawumi Efueye, this is also in line with the fulfilment of the divine mandate of grooming healthy Christians who will be worthy ambassadors of their faith.

The occasion which took place at the Battersea Park in South West London featured many sporting events including football, athletics etc. The members of the church were all grouped into four teams or houses (Blue, Red, Yellow and Green) and they also wore t-shirts in the colour of their team. The Pastor however wore a multi-coloured t-shirt in the colours of all the houses, according to him ‘As the spiritual leader of all the houses, I can not be seen to be supporting any one particular team only, and so my t-shirt reflects the colours of all the teams as I support all of them equally, because the t-shirt has no yellow colour, I am also spotting a yellow scarf to reflect their colour’.

The 4 houses keenly participated in all the events and took each other to the wire, but at the end Yellow house won the overall prize.
