Akpu-Nku What type of reconstruction will be best for Nigeria? 1. Devolution of Power? a. Regional government- 6 regions or countries? b. Confederation- 6 Confederate states? c. 6 Prime Ministers and a Union Ceremonial President? d. Arewa, Benue/Middle Belt, Oodua, Delta/Oceanic, Biafra Republics? e. Discuss: While each region caters for their citizens, the revenue accrued from oil will be shared equally among these regions to aid their respective governments in running their regions. All citizens of each region are free to live and work in all the confederate regions and will not require a passport to travel but as a means of indentification and correct data. Each region must specialise in providing a product that other regions may aquire from them through trade or exchange of services in satisfying their respective wants. Professionals must be sourced from these regions first before being advertised on the international job market. Fines will be set to punish offenders to the rule by the Union. There must not be any conflict resulting to bloodshed in war among these regions and any region that threatens another will be suspended from the "Union" for a number of years during which they will not be traded with and communicated with by the remaining regions. A period of 5 years maximum will be set for each region to build and sustain a specialist hospital, different to other regions to serve the needs of the whole regions as profitable as obtains internationally-particularly Germany, revamped primary and secondary schools and atleast not less than three or maximum five, fully equiped internationally standard universities. In this way, Johnny-Walker Presidents and his cohorts at Abuja and environs including the motley crew from copy-cat states will eventually be cured of perambulating tendencies and, when they do start, the region will fly such character to Ibadan Neurological Hospital, Enugu Othorpedic Hospital, Kudje Psychiatric Hospital or Bassa Retirement Home, all specialists centres found in the regions. Each region must have accessible viable airports for local use use and one international airport to serve each region and their international ventures. Each region must maintain their road networks and dualise where neccessary otherwise be fined by the Union. There should not be a pronounced dividing boundries as each region automatically constitute itself by the number and boundary of states constituting that region. Boundary disputes must always be brought before the union and villages, wards or local governments involved will by cultural and language affiliation chose which region best suited them or they will be divided between that same affiliation. Each region must have a national football team and may engage each other in tournaments in opossing groups to qualify for any international football fest. In the end, instead of one, Nigeria as a Union will produce six national teams. Each regional government must build their part of the railway in their regions as they see fit to connect with the other regions as effective as roads for transportation and frieghting of goods. Railways must be made for comfortable luxurious traveling connecting all regions in the Union. To make all these to happen each region must firstly invest in electricity generation, solar, wind, hydro, gas, coal, nuclear, etc. The most successful region will be determined by amount of electrical power they generate and how constant to sustain comfortable living and industrial revolution. Infact, uninterrupted power supply will be the highest redeeming factor for any of the regions as they will become the financial and business hub of the Union which consequently will emphasize on the security of lives, businesses and properties of every citizen in that region as paramount. Each region must be adviced to use their indeginous languages for administrative works leadership, schooling and national language. Business deals with other regions shall be in English including international transactions. Each region must be distinctive of each other and must be a defining patriotic value that must be respected in the Union. A citizen should maintain a home base in any region that took their fancy as citizen in the Union if they can afford it legally as of right of citizenship. They may live and work and contribute positively to that region and obeying their laws while living there. Such citizen must not be termed a foriegner as there are no such thing in the Union. The Union may have five Members of Paliament each representing the six regions. Elections must be conducted as they deem fit in each region as ther will not be any more national elections because each region has become a nationality of it's own. And each region must chose the type of government and laws that will suit their regions. The Members of Paliament in the Union will look after the affairs of the regions at Abuja and will make sure their revenue accrued them are fully paid and to make sure their regions are not misrepresented in the Union. Each region must have their national flags, anthems, logos and emblems. They must have their national dressing and cultural distinction. All the regions must come to the aid of any region that needs it and repeat, no region must attack or go to war against another as they will be punished by the rest of the Union.
