<br />In what would be similar to the popular American artistes unite for Africa project which gave birth to the famous We Are the World album in 1985 may happen again but this time with Nigerian artistes uniting for the Kanu Heart Foundation (KHF) come September 8 this year when the Sing to the Heart Project will be launched. The project which is an album comprise of different artistes such as Tuface Idibia, Faze, Nomoreloss, OJB Jezreel, CMon, Obiwon, Soul-E and Zyon. Others are Sunny Neji, Nyola, African China, Sound Sultan, Pastor Goddy Goddy, KC Presh, Azadus, Jazzman Olofin, Dany Spry and Jeffry J. Also included in the list are W4, Lambo Guini, Jafaar, Kemistry, H-Man, Abounce, K-Show as well as new Idols superstars Timi and Omawunmi. The project is aimed at helping raise funds for the foundation which takes care of children with heart conditions. According to the project coordinator, Osita Agu, KHF targets saving 250 lives every year and had to start the project expected to last for five years. The project will last five years after which we hope to eventually build a cardiac hospital in Nigeria, he said. Also featuring in the album is about 30 upcoming artistes who will be singing alongside the soccer star and philanthropist, Nwankwo Kanu. The album features songs by the various artistes, a theme song and an anthem performed by Papilo with some selected artistes. The outstanding quality of the album is that the lyrics deviate from the everyday pattern of music being performed in Nigeria; the songs centre on humanity, love and sharing. To make sure the songs were up to the game being sort for and compares with desired standards, the songs were heavily scrutinized and any song not meeting the standard were dropped. Most of the songs were recorded at Heavy Metal Studios and Point beat Studios who gave their services free of charge while Dale ware Studio, Digital Colours, Silverbird Group, Philip Trimmel Productions and OJez Entertainments provided support. While enjoining Nigerians to support the cause, Agu said: Africa is a place where people survive by community spirit. We dont have cousins in Africa, we have brothers; and we are our brothers keepers. By buying a copy of the album, you get value for your money because its good music and again, you will be touching a life when you do so.
