Right now, I am recording a song that will feature Nomoreloss; its going to be awesome because I will be working I am working on this album with Carl Raccah, the MD and producer of Orangootan Records; the label I am signed to and also with a South African and
My Romance Perfume.
I just launched my perfume called Romance by Ashionye. The perfume concept was informed by my being a firm believer in Nigerian women and their capabilities and again, I thought it was time to do something not just for myself but also for the Nigerian women. This is the first time ever in entertainment in
It took us nine months and a whole lot of money to actually put all these together; its not an endorsement but my perfume. I picked the scent which was my initiative. I just went to meet some of my friends who have cosmetics manufacturing companies and sold the idea to them. Siperco Nig. Ltd precisely took up the idea and manufactured the perfume.
Capturing the market.
Romance Perfume will be marketed in
We are looking at not just capturing the
My name is Destiny and was destined to be in entertainment. Apart from my albums always being sold out at Nu Metro plaza, my perfumes is selling fast; in two days, the batch that we supplied got sold of the shelf and they are requesting for more. Right now I am being asked to get more Cds and more perfumes. I have been in entertainment and believe I have paid my dues and now, I am reaping the benefits.
Charity Works.
I have been doing a lot of charity work for some time now and maybe I might launch a foundation in the nearest future; I havent decided on what exactly to do but I intend to do something around children.
I am a Woman
My current single, I Am a Woman, is a girl power song about female empowerment. I wrote the song and featured Sasha, Blaze, Kemistry, Amaka, Amina, Zeal, and Eniola; seven hot female singers and rappers in
The reason I wrote that song was that a lot of people have been pushing women to the back seat in entertainment and I felt very uncomfortable with that because I know a lot of women in entertainment who have potentials; a lot of women can do a lot of things better than men. So I decided to write that song and chose these ladies to pass the message and start a movement for ladies. And its been amazing that since the song hit the airwaves, we have had new faces in music and everyone is just happy. I now have girls I dont know come up to me and say, I am a singer and have a single on radio, you inspired me.
Feminist?
I am not a feminist; I still love my Nigerian men. Though I sang that song, I dont need a man to tell me how to live my life, I am working hard to make it and will do what I think is right. Lets face it; we are in
But a lot of men lock their wives and daughters in the house, thats what the song is all about. Its not like its a slight against men; I dont hate men, I am in a solid relationship of almost five years so I am not a feminist. I still respect a lot of my Nigerian men.
Wedding Bells?
When the time is right, only God can tell.
